Chayn started in 2013 to provide survivors of abuse with accurate, diverse and accessible information.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Director of Operations at Chayn, you will play a pivotal role in leading and shaping the organization’s vision and impact. Reporting to the CEO, your responsibilities include:-
Strategic Leadership:
- Provide executive leadership, ensuring alignment with Chayn’s mission, values, and the 2023-2025 strategy and beyond.
- Work with the CEO to support the development of a strategic plan beyond 2025, subject to Board approval.

Financial Management and Risk Oversight:
- Manage compliance with UK Charity Commission regulations, local and international funder expectations, GDPR, and other relevant frameworks is essential.
- Monitor progress toward strategic targets across all areas.
- Develop and implement a sustainable finance strategy.
- Diversify revenue streams and analyze risks and benefits of grant and partnership offers.

- Provide critical insights to aid Board decision-making.

For those who don't know, The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people. We are a non-profit that provides 24/7 life-saving support via phone, text, and chat. We also operate the world’s largest safe space social networking site for LGBTQ youth and run innovative research, education, and advocacy programs.
Our On Call Consults (OCCs) are available by phone for crisis services staff to consult on high and imminent risk situations and approve active interventions. OCCs are required to complete mandatory training and attend meetings once a quarter, as needed. OCCs are required to have an advanced degree in a mental health field and/or a valid medical/social work/psychology (or equivalent) license. Someone with an LLC or equivalent is preferred. We are looking for a collaborative individual who has experience in crisis situations and is committed to LGBTQ+ competency.
Our current opening in the schedule is as follows:
- Sunday to Thursday: 6:30pm-11:00pm PT /9:30pm-2:00am ET
- Friday and Saturday: 2:30pm-11:00pm PT / 5:30pm-2:00am ET
- Shift rotation: Every 4 weeks, which equates to about one week a month being on call.
- Our other external OCCs are available for shift swaps when needed, providing flexibility to accommodate schedules when necessary.

The partnership raises public support, advocates for improved policies and laws, and strengthens civil society to contribute to achieving gender justice. It thrives on the diversity, strength and collaboration of experts, evidence-based and evaluated approaches, cross-country learning, and global advocacy.
Programme background
The Generation G partnership raises public support, advocates for improved policies and laws, and strengthens civil society as a means to contribute to gender justice. More specifically, this partnership engages an innovative gender-transformative strategy that equips youth leaders and civil society organisations to address the root causes of gender inequality and power imbalances. Engaging (young) men in promoting gender justice is a key component of this strategy.
The key approach of the programme is a gender-transformative approach. A gender-transformative approach focuses on the following elements: a) investing in amplifying young feminist voices; b) strengthening the role of young men as allies in gender equality; c) promoting human rights and youth agency; d) analysing and addressing harmful norms and unequal power relations; e) embracing sexual and gender diversity.
Objectives
The end-term evaluation of the Generation G programme has two-fold objectives: programmatic focused and collaboration focused. Detailed objectives are:
- Evaluating the effectiveness of the programme
- Evaluating the partnership collaboration

Evaluating the relevance and validity of the theory of change
The partnership calls for an external, independent party to address these objectives clearly and comprehensively in all seven countries where Generation G has been implemented. Results from the end-term evaluation needs to provide insights for future programmes.
The succesful applicant
The successful application will identify key personnel within the evaluation team who meet desired criteria such as the following:- Master’s degree or higher in social sciences or related fields such as public health science, political science.
- Advanced skills in the realist evaluation approach, as well as quantitative and qualitative research methodologies;
- Proven track record in the evaluation of advocacy programmes, gender justice, meaningful and inclusive youth participation gender-transformative lobbying and advocacy, youth-inclusive policymaking and legislation, particularly in long-term assignments such as this one, that have been implemented in multiple countries;
- At least five years’ experience in the development sector;
- Knowledge of human rights, gender justice, gender-transformative lobbying and advocacy, intersectionality, youth agency, youth-inclusive policymaking and legislation and collaborative programming, including approaches to engage men and boys;
- Proven experience in working with the realist evaluation approach;
- Proven experience in working with qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis for evaluations;
- Network with research institutions and/or independent consultants in the South;
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and respond appropriately to constructive feedback; and
- Experience in sharing and discussing review findings with clients, in-country partners and beneficiaries, and within an international research network.

Descriptif du posteEn lien direct avec la responsable régionale de l’antenne, vous serez en charge des missions suivantes :
1/ Coordination opérationnelle des actions proposées à nos bénéficiaires et organisées avec les entreprises partenaires.
Vous serez chargé d’organiser les actions proposées aux bénéficiaires de l’association, en lien avec les entreprises/structures partenaires de l’antenne, en vous assurant qu’elles répondent à leurs besoins.
2/ Gestion du reporting (outil CRM) et participation aux bilans partenaires

Les rôles modèles sont des femmes bénévoles ou en mécénat de compétences, détachées par leurs entreprises. DELIVERABLES
The service provider will propose and design a research plan in coordination with the EL*C, using a multi- methods approach. The service provider will collect the necessary data and conduct the analysis of the data collected based on the above objectives and produce a research report, a long-read investigation article and a fact sheet document. Recommendations for social media companies and policy makers; The service provider is expected to:
1. Provide a detailed work plan of the research, including a timeline for the deliverables in line with the requested ToR timeline;
2. Conduct desk research on existing data concerning social media and online hate speech;
3. Prepare a detailed data collection plan in accordance with the objectives of the research;
4. Implement the data collection plan, ensuring an adequate scope and representativeness of data in line with research objectives;
5. Provide an analysis of the data collected in collaboration with EL*C.

- Demonstrated experience with investigation, data and information collection and analysis within the field of applied research and/or investigative journalism;

- Good understanding of current and past struggles of LBTI women and non-binary persons;
- Strong organisational, interpersonal, and project management skills;

About the Opportunity

Technical support and oversight

- Assist in managing the ESV calendar, by keeping track of the upcoming relevant state actors and partners meetings and events relevant to the four key campaigns highlighted above and making all the necessary preparations, as well as keeping minutes during such meetings.
- Participating in the conceptualisation, drafting, and editing of periodic reports including submission to accountability platforms.
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the ESV Program officers or the Regional Coordinator
Academic and Professional Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in law, human rights, international relations, gender studies, social sciences or a related field is required.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in the non-profit, NGO, community development sectors or related field.
- A strong grasp of the African human rights system, women and girls’ rights issues in Africa, continental dynamics and their effects on the implementation of key treaties underpinning the rights of women and girls in Africa.
- Proven track record of knowledge and commitment – exhibited by coursework, writing, or work experience – to the rights of women and girls in Africa.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage concurrent deadlines.
- Fluency in English.
- Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication, excellent interpersonal, and networking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong technical literacy.
