Healing Conversations: one to one trauma counselling in five languages and baby loss peer support.
Sister Circle is looking for a Project Manager who is committed to tackling one of the most pressing challenges in women’s health today—improving equity and justice for underserved communities of women.
The Role
As our Project Manager, you will lead our Maternity Mates team and key relationships with NHS and Public Health stakeholders and local partners. You will ensure the Maternity Mates programme is integrated into the wider maternity care system, ensuring our beneficiaries receive holistic, joined-up support; improving experiences for pregnant women, often impacted by socioeconomic, linguistic, and cultural challenges.

KEY PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead gender and resilience context analyses.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- University degree in gender/women studies, social sciences, rural development/sociology, agricultural economics, anthropology, development studies, or other closely related fields.
- At least 5 to 7 years of experience in gender equality, gender mainstreaming, or related role.
- Experience designing and facilitating training on gender issues and gender integration processes and techniques.
- Solid experience in designing, monitoring and evaluating gender components in projects.
- Experience in gender mainstreaming in resilience programs would be an added advantage.
- Ability to handle multiple issues at one time, including emergency situations.
- Must be adaptable to and comfortable with shifting priorities.

The Monitoring & Evaluation Officer's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

The profile of the candidate:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years’ working and activist experience in some or all the areas of responsibility outlined in the job profile. It is essential that the person carries a strong feminist identity and has proven experience of work to advance womxn’s rights through struggles. Experience in the building of information materials for community activists, and an ability to design and facilitate political and popular/feminist formation work is critical. They should be able to evidence their contributions to building networks and platforms of convergence with a wide range of allies and partners and should have between 2-3 years’ experience in campaigns building and advocacy. We actively look for someone who has some experience of programmes/projects development, management, and coordination, and can write reports, concept notes and proposals. They should have the ability to work in a team, meet deadlines, problem-solve with others, and work with full accountability to peers, alliance members and local movements/formations.

Purpose and Objectives of this Consultancy
This consultancy seeks a skilled facilitator(s) to co-create and deliver one or more of capacity-building training listed below, for AWDF grantee organizations across Africa, taking place between April and June 2025. The facilitator will develop training modules based on the findings of a participatory needs assessment, ensuring relevance and responsiveness. Critically, the facilitator will support grantees in developing tailored, needs-based strategies.

Training Objectives

2. Communication, Advocacy, and Digital Security: To enhance participants' ability to communicate feminist narratives effectively, advocate for gender equality, and navigate the digital landscape safely and responsibly, including addressing online harassment and ensuring data protection.
3. Research & Advocacy Skills Building Teach-In Session: To provide participants with foundational research and advocacy skills to support their work in promoting social justice and gender equality.
Scope of Work
In collaboration with AWDF’s Agency and Resilience Programme Specialist and Programme Manager, the facilitator will:
1. Co-design and deliver interactive, participatory five-day capacity-building workshops for the chosen thematic area.
2. Design the workshop flow and advise AWDF on any additional key content facilitators to include in the workshop programme e.g. keynote speakers, artists etc
3. Conduct a participatory needs assessment with registered participants to inform training structure and content.
4. Collaborate with the interpretation team to ensure consistency and cultural sensitivity of training modules and materials in English and French.
5. Support each participating organization in developing a one-year Implementation document. 6. Provide participants with relevant resources for continued learning and development.

About the internship
You would be part of the policy, advocacy & press unit, which develops global reports, policies and recommendations based on evidence from our programme countries. We facilitate spaces for exchange across the organisations, partners and colleagues. Young people from lower income families are 40% less likely to go to University than wealthier peers (Dept for Education, 2020) which can have a lifelong impact on earning potential. Covid-19 has deepened inequalities (Social Mobility Foundation, 2022) and negatively impacted on young people's wellbeing (GirlGuiding, 2020). We believe that no girls should have their futures limited by their gender, sex, ethnicity, background, or parental income and they should be supported to realise their ambitions, to discover their self-worth, and to develop their capacity to shape their world and their futures.
We work in communities of least advantage across England to deliver two core programmes to achieve this vision. Through our mentoring programme we connect 14-19 year old girls with a mentor and a wider network of role models who are women and deliver opportunities which help them to build life skills and nurture their ambitions.
Based on the idea that 'you can't be what you can't see', our mentors often help girls to broaden their horizons and create a more positive vision of their futures. After the programme, the mentees can join a free, lifelong network of support - our Ambassador Community, which offers further opportunities to reach their goals, build their confidence and to share their voices and experiences. Our programmes help girls and young women to develop the knowledge, skills, selfbelief and opportunities to thrive, and to be supported as part of a network that champions them and ensures their voices are heard.
THE ROLE
The Fundraising Manager (Partnerships) role is a fantastic opportunity to lead on developing partnerships with The Girls’ Network's corporate and public sector supporters. The programme is well established with £170,000 worth of partners already on board. There is an opportunity to put your own stamp on the work, developing new collateral and ideas for excellent partnerships. The role is within our Fundraising & Communications team of four staff and works in collaboration with regional Senior Network Managers. There is an opportunity for the post holder to collaborate with the Fundraising Manager (Trusts and Foundations) on the development of grant applications.

You will have at least five years’ relevant experience as a fundraiser or in other similar roles e.g. marketing or sales, ideally with at least three years working in fundraising and be able to demonstrate previous success in generating income and achieving targets.

- Consolidate the reports (narrative and finance) from the partners and submit to the respective donors on time.
- Coordinate meetings with AIPP members and partner-organizations in respective countries for effective project implementation and management.
Finance Management
- Assess finance management capacity, contracting and monitoring of the new partners with the support of the Finance Manager.
- Prepare project and activity budget including the partner’s budget and ensure the consistency in term of budget lines submitted to the donor.
Human Resource Management
- Support the management in staff recruitment, screening and selection process for the Indigenous Women programme.
- Take the lead in the probation review of new staff and performance management within the programme with the support of the HR Manager.
Coordination and Networking
- Coordinate and support Indigenous Women Organizations and Networks across different levels.
- In consultation with the Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General, represent AIPP and participate in Indigenous Peoples and Women related processes and events including meetings, workshops and seminars.
C. Knowledge and Educational Qualification
- At least bachelor’s degree or equivalent in in Gender & Development studies, Sociology, Rural development, Development studies. A Master’s Degree in related studies will be an added advantage.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Indigenous Peoples rights, issues and concerns especially of Indigenous Peoples and Indigenous women in Asia.
D. Working Experiences
- Minimum of 5 years of working experience in management including being responsible for Programme management, fund raising, advocacy and staff management
- Minimum of 5 years of working experience in women and gender work, project management based on the logical framework, finance management, Project Monitoring and Evaluation (PME) and fundraising
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with national and international Indigenous Peoples’ organizations, government agencies, civil society organizations etc.
E. Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills in written and verbal English
- Positive attitude adaptability to working in a multi-ethnic/social environment
