- Description du poste
- L'apprenti(e) appuiera l'activité du pôle "genre, droits et santé sexuels et reproductifs et diplomatie féministe" et plus particulièrement son volet multilatéral. Il s'agira notamment d'apporter un appui à /au :
- 1/ la préparation des positions françaises dans les enceintes multilatérales et à la réponse aux commandes multilatérales (NU, UE, G7, G20,...) ;
- 2/ suivi des initiatives multilatérales soutenues par le MEAE (AFAWA, Fonds mondial pour les survivant(e)s de violences sexuelles liées aux conflits, ...) y compris dans la préparation des conseils d'administration ;
- 3/ suivi des activités des principaux partenaires internationaux sur les thématiques ;
- 4/ développement d'une formation en matière d'égalité de genre et de droits et santé sexuels et reproductifs dans le domaine multilatéral (revue de la littérature, préparation de notes thématiques, participation aux réunions de construction du contenu) ;

Gender-based violence (GBV)Duties and Responsibilities

- Maintain close contact with relevant staff in UN Women HQ.
4. Manage the resource mobilization strategy for EVAW in the region- Participate in the implementation, monitoring and periodic updating of the resource mobilization strategy on EVAW in the region;
- Provide technical support to field-based presences in the region in mobilizing resources for the implementation of EVAW initiatives;
- Research and analyze information on donors; prepare substantive briefs on possible areas of cooperation.
5. Oversee the design of gender equality and ending violence against women initiatives in the region and the development of relevant knowledge products- Provide policy recommendations and guidance to strategic planning and positioning on EVAW;
- Work closely with and provide advice to regional/ national bodies and interagency groups that influence national policies related to gender equality and EVAW and where necessary represent UN Women;
- Research, develop and present analytical reports, research papers, briefing notes, background papers, summaries, correspondence, and knowledge products on gender equality and EVAW;
- Identify promising practices, technical expertise, and strategic opportunities in EVAW.
6. Oversee knowledge building and sharing for gender equality and ending violence against women- Identify and disseminate lessons learnt and good practices in collaboration with country offices;
- Ensure technical skills and knowledge are shared within and among RO/PPOs/COs/ MCO.

To boost the momentum, the Walking the Talk consortium brings together four European organizations: Equipop (France), Restless Development (United Kingdom), the Centre for Feminist Foreign Policy (Germany), and Hivos (the Netherlands, and lead of the consortium). Together we will utilize our extensive collective experience to embed gender equality in foreign policies, practices, and Official Development Assistance spending and to ensure that the perspectives and ideas of (young) feminists from the Global South are included in decisions about gender equality Official Development Assistance and Feminist Foreign Policy.
Responsibilities
Tasks that will be part of the intern’s assignment may include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in planning and creating content for the Hivos website and social channels (articles, social posts, e-mail, etc.).
- Support the national and international advocacy events, like debates, panels, conferences, or feminist saloons. This can be in logistical support, help promoting the events, arranging speakers, etc. Learn more about previous events here.
- Support advocacy efforts on Dutch foreign policy level. This can include assist in writing reports and pitches for decision-makers.
- Collaborate with colleagues on new ideas, directions, and tools for communications.
- Contribute to the research component of the program. This could for example be on feminist financing, but can be based on interest.
- Popularizing research findings in creative ways to make these accessible and tangible to a general audience.
- Collaborate with consortium members and allies from the Global South and North, to ensure that advocacy and communication efforts are aligned and reflect their priorities.
- Please note that the intern does not carry the full responsibility of these tasks. The intern will always work together with the Walking the Talk team.
Profile and requirements
- A strong belief in and embodiment of Walking the Talk’s values and principles
- Bachelor or Master student registered at Dutch University in the field of Communication Science, International Relations, Political Science, Gender Studies, Public Administration, Global Health or related studies.
- Full professional proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal skills, fluency in Dutch if possible.
- Interest in Human Rights, Gender Equality, Feminist Financing and/or Feminist Foreign Policy.

Child protection/ Children’s rights Gender-based violence (GBV)Introduction:CARE Iraq, in collaboration with The Lotus Flower, initiated a joint project on May 1, 2023, to address the protection needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs) residing in informal settlements. This project emphasizes risk mitigation and response enhancement, with a significant focus on protecting all groups within four IDP communities in Duhok governorate.
Objective:- The primary objective of this consultancy is to deliver training sessions on three key topics:
- Consent: Explaining the concept of consent and its proactive role in preventing sexual violence within the IDP communities. Participants will also learn how to teach children about sexual abuse, emphasizing the rule that nobody should touch them without their consent.
- Bystander Intervention: Introducing the concept of bystander approaches with the goal of empowering individuals to intervene safely when witnessing instances of intimate partner violence and/or violence against women and children, tailored to fit the Iraqi context.
- Caring for Child Survivors: Providing case workers with essential skills for the effective and sensitive care of child survivors of sexual abuse.
- Development of comprehensive training materials for each topic, including presentations, handouts, and case studies.
- Conducting interactive training sessions on consent, bystander intervention, and caring for child survivors.
- Provision of post-training resources and support materials, such as guidelines and toolkits, to aid in the implementation of learned skills and knowledge.
Methodology:- The consultant will employ participatory and experiential learning techniques, including role-plays, group discussions, and storytelling, to engage participants and facilitate knowledge transfer.
- Training sessions will prioritize creating a safe and supportive environment for participants to share experiences and ask questions.
The consultant should have:- Relevant post graduate degree in social sciences (i.e. psychology or social work)
- At least 5 years of proven professional experiences in Child protection, violence against women and children, including knowledge of trauma-informed approaches.
- Proven track record as a technical trainer, at least three years of experience as a trainer, corporate training specialist, or in a related role focused on topics related to violence against women and children, including knowledge of trauma-informed approaches.

Designing a gender-sensitive monitoring plan in partnership with the TAAT M&E Expert for identification and inclusion of women-specific targets and sex-disaggregated key performance indicators to track progress, assess performance and measure impact of the gender results;
Supporting the preparation of quarterly reports providing progress on the level of implementation of gender mainstreaming activities within the program;
Regularly collecting data that could be used to monitor potential gender progress and inform prospects impacts;
Maintaining contacts with appropriate counterparts within and outside the institution and support the Bank’s gender engagement with other external stakeholders, such as private sector, civil society organizations, and nongovernmental organizations; and,
Working closely with various TAAT Compacts to identify and address key shortcomings in gender inclusion in an effort to strengthen the seed systems that limit smallholder farmers and especially women to access and use locally adapted and affordable high quality certified seeds of improved varieties within RMCs.
The selected consultant should possess:
an advanced degree in Gender Development, International Relations, Social Sciences and/or any other related areas; a minimum of five years of relevant experience, preferably with international organizations or in international development settings, including in donor coordination and external partnerships;
familiarity working Multilateral Development Banks, United Nations and/or other bilateral donor organizations with specific work on Gender strategies and Gender programs;
