MasculinitiesBackground:
The OSCE has a comprehensive approach to security that encompasses politico-military, economic and environmental, and human aspects. It therefore addresses a wide range of security-related concerns, including arms control, confidence- and security-building measures, human rights, combating human trafficking, national minorities, democratization, policing strategies, counter-terrorism and economic and environmental activities. All 57 participating States enjoy equal status, and decisions are taken by consensus on a politically, but not legally binding basis.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of respective Project Manager, the expert/consultant shall be performing the following duties:
- Prepare dedicated summaries, reports and guidance documents tailored to different audiences of OSCE participating States and other stakeholders;
- Develop and finetune practical toolkits on engaging men and boys, including for different OSCE sub-regions and sectors;
- Develop and deliver interactive and transformative trainings for different audiences (participating States representatives, OSCE staff, civil society organizations);
- Design and implement research on lived experiences of male allies and their coping strategies in addressing gender backsliding;
- Conduct analyses of patterns of resistance and breakthrough in engaging men to support gender equality.
Objective of Assignment:
The OSCE Gender Issues Programme is looking to recruit consultants to conduct specific assignments to achieve further results in the area of engaging men and boys and to support joint work by WIN and CHANGE looking into existing and emerging practices on engaging men to support gender equality.
Duration of Assignment:
The duration of the consultancies will depend on specific activity.
Necessary Qualifications:
- Second-level University degree in relevant area (gender studies, social or political sciences);
- Minimum six years of professional experience at national and/or international level in the area of gender equality, particularly in engaging men and boys;
- Knowledge of/Experience working in the OSCE region would be an asset;
- Proven experience in conducting research and drafting written products on the topic of engaging men and boys and tailored to different audiences;
- Experience in conducting training sessions for audiences with a diverse, multi-lingual background, including by using innovative approaches, and by using virtual technology as appropriate;
- Professional fluency in English including excellent drafting and editing skills;
- Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
- Flexibility and ability to work under time pressure to meet tight deadlines;
- Computer literate with practical experience using Microsoft applications.

POSITION / ROLE SUMMARY
The Global Coordinator- Alliance for Universal Digital Rights (AUDRi) will ensure the effective coordination of the AUDRi coalition and ensure that its campaign objectives are met, namely to achieve the campaign outcomes and gain profile and platform for the campaign.The Global Coordinator will also support in mobilizing resources for the campaign.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate the AUDRi coalition- Undertake consultations with diverse stakeholders and cultivate their interest, willingness, and ability to join and participate in the AUDRi coalition;
- Work with AUDRi supporters and the Steering Committee to establish the priorities for the coalition to achieve the campaign objectives and its ways of working, e.g. the establishment of regional and/or thematic clusters;
Support the strengthening and coordination of the AUDRi Steering Committee- Oversee the process of fully establishing the Steering Committee, its workplan, and ways of working in pursuit of the campaign objectives;
- Support the establishment of leadership and decision making structures and protocols of the Steering Committee, e.g. any working group committees and their terms of reference;
Lead on AUDRi’s campaigns communications and advocacy- Act as an expert adviser for the AUDRi coalition in the development and implementation of its communications and advocacy strategies;
- Collaborate and work with the Communications Team within Equality Now on the development of messages and communications, assets and tools for the Coalition;
Work with others in Equality Now to advance AUDRi goals- Work closely with the Global Lead - End Sexual Exploitation in overall oversight of and reporting on the AUDRi campaign;

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Master’s Degree in law, international affairs, economics, political science, non-profit management or related field;
- Relevant experience in coordinating and leading inter-agency initiatives;
- Experience in coordinating global and/or diverse coalitions is highly desirable;
- Experience in international advocacy aimed at governments and international bodies is highly desirable;
- Previous campaign management experience;

As Imkaan’s Grants Manager you will lead the development and implementation of the grant making strategy to provide opportunities for Black and minoritised, by-and-for womens and girls organisations dedicated to ending violence against women and girls (VAWG). Academic and Professional Qualifications

- A strong grasp of the African human rights system, women and girls’ rights issues in Africa, continental dynamics and their effects on the implementation of key treaties underpinning the rights of women and girls in Africa.
- Proven track record of knowledge and commitment – exhibited by coursework, writing, or work experience – to the rights of women and girls in Africa.

Role Responsibilities
Operations:
• Ensure the coherent and effective implementation of administrative, financial, and HR guidelines aligning with the overall organizational strategy in collaboration with the Director;

WORK ASSIGNMENT:

Specifically, the consultant shall carry out the following tasks:
1. Draft, in close consultation with UNESCO and the Project Reference Group, an evaluation inception report, which contains updated methods for data collection and analysis and a timeline with deliverables for the evaluation.
2. Make any revisions, on the basis of feedback provided, to the overall methodology and data collection tools (eg as questionnaires, interview guides, and focus group discussion (FGD) guide, as appropriate)3. Plan and carry out data collection and analysis according to the agreed methodology of the mid-term project evaluation.
4. Develop and submit to UNESCO Bangkok a full, final mid-term evaluation report and summary presentation of the key findings from the report.
5. Deliver the summary presentation and co-facilitate with UNESCO, discussions at an in-person learning exchange meeting to react to, and validate the evaluation findings and recommendations. The learning exchange meeting will be organized by UNESCO in the first week of December 2024 (tentatively) in Bangkok, Thailand. The consultant will co-create with UNESCO the meeting’s discussion methodology and gather participants’ feedback to incorporate into the final mid-term evaluation narrative report.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation

KEY FUNCTIONS:
- Provide intellectual and strategic leadership to the Gender, Women and, Civil Society agenda for the Bank Group, working across technical, geographic and institutional boundaries to support the delivery of development solutions to a diverse range of clients.
- Oversee the bank-wide implementation of the AFAWA initiative, in partnership with relevant internal and external partners with strong involvement in the design of financial tools and innovative methods to ensure financial inclusion.
- Develop innovative and first-class financial tools in line with commercial banking norms to promote women access to financing opportunities and investments.
- Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and engage at the senior-most levels to coordinate and mobilize resources to achieve the Bank Group’s strategic goals.
- Lead the implementation of the Bank Group’s strategic framework on gender equality and women empowerment, ensuring the mainstreaming of gender across the Group’s portfolio from project design to implementation, including M&E mechanisms.
- Lead the implementation of the Bank Group’s strategic framework on Civil Society engagement, to institutionalize strategic partnership with the sector from policy dialogue to project implementation.
- Develop a pipeline of high impact research and Economic & Sector Work on Gender, Women and Civil society to support evidence-based policy dialogue and advisory services.
- Coordinate the Bank Group’s relationships with external partners to enhance collaboration and share best practices on the gender equality, women empowerment through women entrepreneurship and financial access and civil society engagement agenda in Africa and the world.
- Advise the Bank Group on emerging matters of strategic, policy and institutional significance related to the Gender, Women and Civil Society agenda across its activities.
COMPETENCIES
- A minimum of a Master’s degree in Gender, Economic Development, Business Administration, Management or other related disciplines.
- Proven experience with commercial and/or investment banking system in Africa.
- Have a minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in development in an international organization or similar institution in the financial services sector, commercial or investment banking, academia or civil society, with preferably five (5) years of experience at a managerial level.
- A solid knowledge and good grasp of socio-economic and development issues in Africa.
- Demonstrated ability to take prudent business risks, develop innovative approaches and make effective, timely and well-determined decisions.
- Knowledge of the practices of major bilateral and multilateral partner development agencies in African countries or other developing countries.
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) in English or French, with a working knowledge of the other.
