Economic justiceSummary:The Gender Innovation Lab (GIL) of the World Bank’s Africa Gender Impact Evaluation Unit, which is mapped to the Africa Region Chief Economist’s Office, conducts impact evaluations of development interventions in Sub-Saharan Africa, seeking to examine the gender gap between men and women when it comes to economic growth and empowerment. With the results of the impact evaluations, the GIL aims to support the design of innovative, scalable interventions to address gender inequality in productive economic sectors across Africa. The impact objective of GIL is to increase take-up of effective policies by governments, development organizations, and the private sector in order to address the underlying causes of gender inequality in Africa, and through that promote growth.
Duties and Accountabilities:
We are looking for an energetic and result-driven economist with a passion for women’s empowerment to join our team to support our knowledge production work through impact evaluations and other analytical work, as well as our policy engagement with government and non-government actors in the space of WEE in Nigeria. The position is based in Abuja. The Extended Term Consultant will work under the supervision of Africa Gender Innovation Lab Senior Economist and head of the Nigeria GIL.Selection Criteria- Minimum of Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in relevant field (Economics, Development Studies, Public Policy).
- Five years + of relevant professional and/or academic experience in applied research, gender and impact evaluation required.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills including a strong econometrics background, and general economic knowledge and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated track record of working with economic data and analytical tools and models to conduct economic analyses and produce user-friendly written outputs; understands underlying statistical concepts.
- Experience writing and publishing papers in peer-reviewed academic journals.
- Experience drafting communications products (policy briefs, blogs, talking points etc.) based on research and creatively disseminating publications through social media outlets, presentations, and conferences. Solid writing and presentation skills.
- Experience managing partner and funder relationships. Ability to cultivate effective, productive relationships and partnerships.
- Experience working or studying in one or more Sub-Saharan African countries preferred; Interest and/or background in gender issues is a plus.
- Excellent workflow management and task organization skills. The key responsibilities of the role include the following:
Environmental and Social Safeguards (ESS) compliance
- Support the implementation of ESS screening and impact assessments for CAP proposals and ensure compliance with GCF ESS Standards and exclusion criteria.
- For sub-projects of a moderate-risk rating, liaise with the Department of Environmental Protection and Conservation (DEPC) undertake Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), support the development of site-level ESMPs and monitor compliance to mitigate social and environmental risks and ensure accountability and transparency.
Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) mainstreaming
- Strongly support the integration and mainstreaming of gender and social inclusion into project implementation through implementing the Gender Analysis and Action Plan (GAAP) into project activities.
- Ensure the representation of women and marginalized groups in decision making on the project and specifically in RWCs
Monitoring, reporting, and quality assurance
- Support the monitoring of ESS and GESI compliance against the ESMP/GAAP, and performance against project indicators and prepare accurate and timely informal and formal reporting.
- Proactively undertake quality assurance reviews of ESS documentation to ensure alignment with principles outlined in SPC's Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER) policy, GCF environmental and social policies and Government of Vanuatu policies, regulations or standards.
Stakeholder engagement and safeguards governance
- Ensure strong safeguards governance within the project by supporting DoWR to improve ESS process and participate in knowledge sharing events and community of practice forums.
- Ensure transparency by supporting the public disclosure of ESS reports (for medium-risk projects).
- Ensure accountability to stakeholders by assisting with the dissemination, monitoring and reporting of the projects Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) and dissemination of the GCF Independent Redress Mechanism (IRM) and the SPC Redress Mechanism.
Capacity building and technical support
- Support training of DWSSP facilitators, PMU staff, national and provincial stakeholders on ESMP procedures for medium-risk sub-projects and strengthen ESS assessment procedures within DoWR.
- Support the identification of opportunities to strengthen GESI knowledge within the PMU and the project.
Key selection criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in social studies, business administration, international development; or equivalent body of knowledge and experience
- At least 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, training, and/or monitoring ESMPs and Gender Analysis and Action Plans and/or equivalent experience in occupational health and safety or private sector diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with strong writing ability at a project donor reporting level.

Executive Director

About the Role
The Executive Director will inspire vision, provide strategic leadership and ensure financial sustainability. - Fifteen (15) years of relevant experience, five (5) years of which must be at the senior management level in development work, women’s rights and poverty eradication programmes in an international organization with proven initiative, flexibility and enthusiasm in managing complex activities in a changing environment.
- Have satisfactorily served as Head of a Unit in AAIK or a comparable position with similar responsibilities in similar organizations for a minimum period of five (5)years.
- Strong leadership, management, analytical/problem solving, and management of crisis, conflict and risk skills.
- Sound and up to date knowledge of development concepts, methodologies and techniques including demonstrated expertise in at least one specialist development field.
- Demonstrable experience in management of AAI affiliates, donors and members.

The Global Affairs Canada funded Inclusive Legislatures for Gender-Responsive Policies (ILGRP) project implemented in Ghana, Kenya and Togo aims at improving development outcomes and human rights. The project supports three partner parliaments and parliamentarians to consider the differential impacts of policies, laws, and budgets on the poorest and most marginalized populations, particularly women and girls. This project is a pioneer effort in providing support towards the strengthening of Parliaments on inclusiveness and gender equality issues. The implementing organizations are the African Centre for Parliamentary Affairs (ACEPA) and Parliamentary Centre (PC).
Objective:
The objective of the assignment is to provide expert support and facilitate processes to develop Human resource policies and practices that enhance gender equality in the parliamentary administrations and provide expert Expert advice and methodological support on resource utilization and service delivery that are gender-sensitive. This will be achieved in two fold:
● Training and practical support of gender equality champions to support gender equality and inclusion in HR policies (mental health, gender responsive HR service Charter and Standard Operating procedures)
● Hold activities with champions to process the adoption of new and revised human resource policies, practices and management plans and strategies for gender equality and responsive parliament administrations.

Scope of Work:

About the RFVP and FVREE
The Regional Family Violence Partnership (RFVP) is the Family Violence Regional Integration Committee across the Eastern Metropolitan Region (EMR) which covers the Department of Fairness and Housing areas of Inner Eastern and Outer Eastern Melbourne. The role of the RFVP is to provide strategic leadership to drive effective cross-sector work to address family violence, sexual violence and violence against women.
The Partnership is made up over 50 highly engaged member agencies from a range of sectors across the EMR. Members include lived experience advocates specialist family violence specialist services, and well as services across primary prevention, child and family, justice, legal, ACCOs, homelessness and disability services. The partnership works to identify and implement creative solutions to address barriers to regional integration and to support the implementation of Victorian government family violence reforms.
The RFVP is auspiced by FVREE who are also an RFVP member organisation. FVREE is a leading not-for-profit specialist family violence service in Melbourne’s EMR providing an integrated range of support and services to empower women and children who are responding to family violence. Under the leadership of the Principal Strategic Advisor (PSA), the RFVP creates an authorising environment for collaboration, enabling connections across organisations and helping to create strong cross-sector relationships that strengthen our local service system.
About the Opportunity
Working collaboratively with organisational partners and lived experience advocates to enable regional leadership, the PSA provides strategic guidance and drives coordination across the partnership, ultimately aiming to strengthen integration across the family violence and related service systems in the Inner and Outer Eastern Melbourne Regions.
The PSA represents the RFVP in statewide committees and forums, ensuring regional perspectives inform system reform and act as an information conduit between local and statewide work and structures.
About You
We are looking for someone who is- experienced in working within or leading a partnership, systems or integration focused role (in a senior leadership capacity) and has worked within or alongside the specialist family violence sector or other relevant social and human service sector.
- familiar with public policy, advocacy or government reform implementation and understand the current family violence policy and reform context.
- experienced in organisational development or coaching experience, particularly in supporting practitioners and emerging leaders
- experienced working with or reporting to a board

UNFPA is the lead United Nations agency for delivering a world where every pregnancy is intended, every childbirth is safe, and every young person's potential is fulfilled. The UNFPA Strategic Plan for 2026-2029 articulates the organization’s response to a complex global environment, providing a roadmap for resilience and renewal. It is designed to accelerate the implementation of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
You would be responsible for:
Programme Development and Implementation- Conduct field assessments and situational analyses to determine needs and gaps for GBV prevention and response, with particular focus on GBV services. Where appropriate, ensure GBV issues are integrated into other key assessments, including those related to recovery, resilience, and social protection.
- Conduct service mapping and service gap analyses to assess the availability, accessibility, and quality of GBV response services, and plan for collaboration and improvement. Integrate longer-term development considerations such as capacity strengthening of national systems and sustainability of service delivery.
- In partnership with relevant UN entities, national and international NGOs, and government counterparts, develop a national GBV Case Management mechanism aligned with global guidance, the Inter-Agency Minimum Standards for Addressing GBV in Emergencies, and the Inter-Agency GBV Case Management Guidelines.
Partnerships- Maintain strong working relationships and, in coordination with the UNFPA Representative/Head of Office, provide regular updates on UNFPA’s GBV progress to the UNCT, GBV Sub-Cluster, Protection and Health Clusters, and development coordination mechanisms.
- Work closely with the SRH Specialist/Coordinator to strengthen linkages between GBV and SRH programmes, ensuring integrated approaches that address the continuum of rights, health, and protection needs.
Reporting- Monitor GBV assistance provided by UNFPA through implementing partners, ensuring both emergency response and developmental impact are documented.
- Track progress and outcomes of GBV programming, especially Case Management and system-strengthening initiatives, through regular data collection, expenditure tracking, and partner reporting
Capacity Development- Provide mentoring and technical coaching to staff, consultants, and implementing partners on GBV prevention, response, and nexus programming.
- Strengthen institutional capacity of local authorities and service providers to transition from humanitarian to sustainable service delivery models.
Administrative and Miscellaneous Duties- Submit monthly reports documenting progress against work plan outputs, highlighting nexus linkages, advocacy achievements, and contributions toward CPD outcomes
Qualifications and Experience:- Advanced degree in social work or other social sciences, public health, community health, international relations, international law, human rights or related field;
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in reproductive health and gender issues and their application in international humanitarian or development settings;
- Experience in humanitarian coordination;
- Knowledge of the humanitarian reform process and roles/responsibilities of humanitarian actors;
- Demonstrable knowledge of reproductive health issues and/or protection issues in humanitarian settings, and of humanitarian emergency operations and roles/responsibilities of humanitarian actors;
- Experience in program management;
- Proficiency in English. Advanced Arabic is an asset

Description of Responsibilities/ Scope of Work
The consultant will:- Convene members of RT 4 workstream to identify key activities to help strengthen gender considerations across the IMRF process, including by developing a strategy of engagement for the Network to ensure gender equality and women’s leadership and agency are centred throughout the IMRF process.
- Collaborate with RT4 “Gender Rapporteur” activity co-leads to craft key advocacy messages and “asks” for Member States.
- Track how gender is included in national GCM reports.
- Embed a strong gender focus into Network activities, as part of IMRF preparations, including in GCM Talks, and/or integrate gender equality considerations into relevant discussions in the leadup to the IMRF.
- Support the Network in tracking all relevant consultations toward the IMRF Political Declaration, highlighting gaps and identifying opportunities for partnerships to strengthen gender considerations in the Progress Declaration.
- Attend the IMRF and follow and capture discussions related to gender equality and women’s empowerment, in coordination with the members of RT 4 workstream.
- Draft a press release capturing key gender insights emerging from the IMRF.
- Produce a final concise report analyzing how gender was integrated across the IMRF and offering recommendations for strengthening the Network’s work on advancing the gender-responsive principle going forward.
