Gender-based violence (GBV)Purpose of the consultancyWe are seeking a Communications Consultancy to develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy for the SVRI Forum 2024. The selected Communications Consultancy will be expected to provide a fully costed communications strategy and plan for SVRI Forum 2024, which include the following core deliverable:-
Comprehensive communications strategy: Development and implementation of a communications strategy for the SVRI Forum 2024 in consultation with the SVRI team. The strategy should include, among others:
- Stakeholder identification: Identification of SVRI Forum 2022 target audiences, including SVRI key partners, grantees, funders, members, government representatives, activists, women’s rights organisations, practitioners, and others.
- Content creation: Creation of key messages and development of high quality content including social posts, press releases, blog posts and more related to conference themes and its key messages tailored for each target audience.
Additional deliverables and outputs:- Media engagement plan: Develop a plan for engaging with various media sources for coverage of the conference.
- Social media plan: Create a detailed social media plan for the conference, including content creation, posting schedules, and engagement strategies.
- Design and branding: Use the SVRI Forum 2024 branding and assets to develop visual materials such as posters, infographics, and promotional videos.
- Website content support: Work with the SVRI to ensure the content on the SVRI Forum 2024 website is user-friendly, informative and interactive.
- Media monitoring: Continuously monitor media coverage and social media discussions related to the conference and provide regular updates on its reach.
- Speaker outreach: Where necessary, assist in reaching out to high-profile speakers and to ensure their participation and engagement.
- Accessibility and inclusion: Implement strategies to ensure the conference is accessible to individuals with particular needs and promotes inclusivity.
- Incident communications plan: Incorporate into the strategy a section on responding to and addressing potential or unexpected issues arising during the conference.

Building upon the Asia Pacific Trans Health Blueprint (2015), the recommendations and road maps developed from the From Barriers to Bridges (FB2B) Conference (2017), and recent multi-country community-led research on barrier to access to health services (2020), the Asia Pacific Transgender Network (APTN) is providing technical assistance to selected countries in Asia and the Pacific. APTN aims to support evidence-based research and service redesign in developing or upscaling of trans-competent HIV, gender-affirming and other healthcare services to improve access for trans people, and to establish community-led mechanisms and enable advocacy holding governments and healthcare providers accountable for meeting their commitments to trans-competent healthcare.
APTN developed the Trans COMP tool community-based monitoring (CBM) tool as a resource that can be administered and led by community members to measure the availability, accessibility, acceptability and quality (AAAQ) of healthcare services provided to trans people. The Trans COMP is a community-based and administered monitoring tool that measures the intended outcomes under each country to monitor progress annually. This will be an essential tool that communities will be able to use to advocate for better healthcare systems and services and to hold government and healthcare providers accountable.
The Trans COMP CBM tool was implemented in APTN partner countries and a report on its use and finding has been developed. APTN is seeking a contractor to create a visual report based on the text and data (approximately 30 total pages from front to back and will include approximately 10-15 infographics (charts, graph) developed from the data presented.
Scope of Work:
The contractor will work in coordination with the Project Officer to design and layout a visual report consisting of high-quality data-driven graphics from the text report APTN developed consisting of the research results of the Trans Comp CBM tool with local partner organisations in the region. The final product must be delivered both virtually in web compatible format and printer-ready format.
Tasks and Deliverables include the following:
The duration for this website consultancy agreement and period of engagement is within December 2023 to February 2024 to deliver a digital report with illustrations and graphs developed from the text report and findings. Included in the contract will be one round of revisions and edits. The contractor is responsible for obtaining the necessary computer programs, fonts, etc that will be required for the development of the report.

Gender-based violence (GBV) PSEA/ SafeguardingThe West African Power Pool (WAPP) is a specialized institution of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) comprising utilities from 14 of the 15 ECOWAS member countries. The WAPP was set up to ensure integration of the power systems of member countries and the establishment of a unified regional wholesale electricity market. In the framework of its operations, the WAPP is at present undertaking projects, including the Regional Emergency Solar Power Intervention (RESPITE) Project.
The Regional Emergency Solar Power Intervention (RESPITE) Project is part of the World Bank Group (WBG) response to the energy crisis faced by the region. RESPITE supports the clean energy transition to reduce the fiscal impact of rising oil prices in the region. Project’s Component 4 (Regional Coordination, Institutional Strengthening, and Implementation Support) includes resources for Regional Integration and Technical Assistance (RITA) to WAPP that will fund the current assignment.
Objectives of the assignment
The WAPP is seeking the services of a qualified and experienced Gender Based Violence Consultant for the Preparation and Implementation of a Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, and Sexual Harassment Action Plan (SEA/SH Action Plan) for RESPITE RITA PIU, financed by the World Bank.
Scope of services
The overall objective of this Assignment is to support the project Implementations Units in the prevention, risk mitigation, and response to GBV issues, with a main focus on SEA and SH, related to the project implementation More specifically, the consultant shall be responsible for conducting an assessment of SEA/SH and GBV risks that may occur or increase as a result of project implementation activities, to include the following:
- Baseline description of the social context on gender and GBV
- Description of potential project impacts on GBV/SEA/SH risks
- Conduct community engagement
- Develop SEA/SH Prevention and Response Action Plan
- SEA/SH Risk Training
- Implementation of SEA/SH Prevention, Mitigation and Response Plan
Qualification and experience- Master’s degree in sociology, social science, development studies, gender studies, law, or related fields.
- The consultant must have the minimum of 6 years’ professional experience in GBV prevention and response, including excellent experience in the following: (i) addressing Sexual exploitation and abuse and sexual harassment in organizations/institutions; (ii) conducting GBV/SEA/SH risk assessment and developing/implementing GBV Action Plans (or activities/projects to prevent and respond to GBV); (iii) implementing government or donor-funded GBV prevention and response programs (including report-writing); (iv) delivery of services to survivors of GBV (e.g., case management, psychosocial support, medical or legal assistance); (v) community engagement and behavioral change communication on issues of gender and GBV; or (vi) developing and delivering training to stakeholders on GBV prevention and response;
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in implementing a survivor-centered approach that prioritizes survivor safety and confidentiality, and which respects survivors’ decision-making and control is a must;
- Sound oral and written communication skills in English or French with a good working knowledge of the other language.

Key responsibilities- Advise TGEU on its strategic litigation strategy
- Implement TGEUs activities to retain and advance legal protection and recognition for trans people under different legal mechanisms, such as:
- The EU

Who we are looking forFor this position, we are looking for a legal expert, preferably with experience in litigation for rights of trans, LGBTI and/or other marginalised groups locally and/or regionally/internationally. We are seeking someone who applies a (self-)critical approach to their work, includes intersectional perspectives, and accumulates a set of skills:
Experience- At least four years of experience in the areas of litigation and legal representation in the wider European area (Council of Europe member states), and particularly with the European Court of Human Rights; experience with the European Court of Justice or UN treaty body system is welcome
