Sexual & reproductive rights (SRHR) HealthTERMS OF REFERENCEUNFPA is the lead agency within the United Nations system for the procurement of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) supplies and the world's largest public-sector procurer of contraceptives. Efficient supply chain management (SCM) is essential for a resilient health system, ensuring a consistent supply of vital Family Planning (FP) and Reproductive Health (RH) commodities. Continuous access is crucial for ensuring good maternal and neonatal health outcomes, preventing unintended pregnancies, and advancing gender equity. Without functioning SCM, programs cannot deliver essential products, thus undermining healthcare efforts. Sexual and reproductive health is a fundamental human right. Access to safe, quality, and effective contraceptives, medicines, and equipment is paramount to women's SRH and is central to achieving gender equality. Access to family planning (FP) is often hindered by supply chain failures, alongside other barriers that limit women's autonomy. In the Arab Region only, a total of 13.6 million women still have an unmet need for family planning (FP).The UNFPA Arab States Regional Office (ASRO) will undertake a comprehensive analysis of the SCM landscape for SRH commodities and supplies across 14 UNFPA program countries in the Arab Region. In 2024, UNFPA country offices in the region distributed FP, SRH, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) supplies to implementing partners, including the Ministry of Health, with a total distribution value of USD 24 million. This represents a significant increase from USD 16 million in 2022 and USD 19 million in 2023. Four countries in the region – Djibouti, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen – are priority countries under UNFPA's flagship trust fund on family planning and receive allocations for these commodities. Additionally, countries such as Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen primarily distribute humanitarian commodities, specifically SRH and GBV-related kits and supplies as a part of the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP). This study aims to identify key bottlenecks and areas for improvement, thereby filling a critical gap in regional-level understanding and complementing existing fragmented information and country-specific assessments

Gender-based violence (GBV)OverviewThe Concern Worldwide and Sonke Gender Justice partnership, launched in 2017, is now in its third phase (2023–2025) and spans 18 countries across Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. The partnership aims to strengthen Concern’s capacity to promote gender equality and transform harmful gender norms through both internal practices and external programming.
Phase 3 focuses on deepening this work by providing technical support and training to staff, building sustainable national training capacity, and engaging senior leadership to embed gender-sensitive practices. Sonke’s contributions include global workshops, country-specific training, tool development, and remote technical support.
Building on earlier phases, Phase 3 responds to lessons learned particularly the need for greater contextual relevance, improved delivery models, and sustainability of impact.
Purpose and objectives of the evaluationThe overall purpose of the evaluation is to assess the Concern-Sonke partnership during Phase 3 (2023-2025), with a focus on both the quality of the partnership and the delivery of training and technical support, and to generate actionable insights for future programming and collaboration.

Human rightsAround the world, women and girls face injustice and violence simply because they are women. The justice system is supposed to protect women, but all too often, courts perpetuate discrimination or remain beyond the reach of those in need.
The Clooney Foundation for Justice’s Waging Justice for Women Fellowship provides annual mentoring and training to early-career African women lawyers in order to cultivate the next generation of justice champions for women and girls in their communities.
How It WorksThe WJW Fellowship offers early-career women lawyers a yearlong, fully funded immersive work experience at one of the leading human rights organizations in Africa. The Fellowship equips fellows with the tools they need to challenge and combat human rights violations, especially those affecting women and girls, through mentoring, training and access to some of Africa’s leading human rights experts, lawyers, judges, activists and academics.Fellows are expected to:
- Support the legal work of their host organizations which may include providing direct legal assistance to individuals, legal research, legal representation, drafting submissions, engaging in advocacy and speaking at events. The specific tasks depend on the mandate and focus of the host organization.
- Identify and support at least one strategic litigation case designed to advance women and girls’ rights in national, regional or international courts or UN mechanisms.
- Carry out at least two outreach activities to students at a school or university on advancing women and girls’ rights during the fellowship.
- Engage in the Fellowship Program activities, including mentoring, training and networking opportunities.
Required Qualifications- A law degree from a recognized academic institution
- Practicing Certificate and work authorization:
- The applicant must be admitted to practice as a lawyer in the country of the selected host organization.
- Fellows are expected to be based in the country of their host organization, and as such, should have the right to work in the host organization’s country. Our host organizations are based in The Gambia, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Sierra Leone, South Africa, and Tanzania.
- Please note that regional organizations – the Institute for Human Rights and Development in Africa (IHRDA), based in The Gambia, and the Pan African Lawyers Union (PALU), based in Tanzania – are willing to accept applications from qualified candidates licensed to practice law in other African countries. They may be able to support some international relocation costs and work permits in such cases. However, for all other organizations, costs relating to international relocation and acquiring work authorization cannot be supported.
- Relevant work experience:
- At least two years of post-qualification experience in the legal field. As this fellowship is for early-career women lawyers, we will be less likely to consider women with more than five years of legal experience post-qualification.
- Experience in women’s rights and working in human rights organizations is preferred.
