THE TRUSTEE ROLE
As a member of our Board of Trustees, you’ll play a key role at Young Women’s Trust. Working collaboratively with your fellow trustees, you will help ensure we deliver on our vision, purpose and values, as well as act in compliance with our governing document and the law. YWT’s Board is made up of 10-14 trustees who serve a maximum of 2 three year terms. The most effective Boards are ones which benefit from people from a diverse range of backgrounds, experiences and skill sets. Trustees who have recently retired from the Board (or who are due to retire later in 2026) will leave a number of gaps in skills and experience that we are seeking to fill in this recruitment drive. Alongside a deep commitment to our cause and ability to meet our general person specification for trustees (see below) we’re now particularly looking for the following:
• Candidates with prior experience of being a trustee who have an understanding of charity governance. And candidates with one or more of the following:
• current or previous experience of being a CEO of a campaigning charity, with expertise in social change as well as charity leadership;
• a commercial background, with deep expertise on the employer landscape;
• expertise in politics and strong political networks
There is a 3 month transitionary phase into the role before trustees formally take up their position in June 2025. During this time we will provide successful candidates with a thorough induction and any support needed.

Gender-based violence (GBV)Background The Global Survivors Fund (GSF) was launched in October 2019 by Dr Denis Mukwege and Nadia Murad, 2018Nobel Peace Prize laureates. Its mission is to enhance access to reparations and other forms of redress for survivors of conflict-related sexual violence around the globe, thus responding to a gap long identified by survivors. GSF acts to provide interim reparative measures in situations where states or other parties are unable or unwilling to meet their responsibilities. It also advocates for duty bearers, the international community and governments to develop reparations programmes, while guiding states and civil society by offering expertise and technical support in developing such initiatives GSF’s survivor-centric approach is the cornerstone of its work.
Consultant’s responsibilities
Technical
• Provide technical support on the activities included in the Colombia programme, aimed at strengthening the effective guarantee of the right to reparation in alignment with international human rights standards, particularly regarding to the right to reparation for conflict related sexual and reproductive violence;
• Assist in the implementation of a bottom-up and survivor-centred approach in the technical analysis and project implementation, ensuring that local contexts, community dynamics, and victims’ perspectives meaningfully inform project priorities, strategies, and outputs;
• Provide input on the legal, institutional and public policy framework in Colombia related to comprehensive reparation with a focus on conflict-related sexual and reproductive violence;
• Compile and organise information on experiences, lessons learned, and emerging practices related to the implementation of the right to reparation for victims of sexual and reproductive violence in Colombia;
• Follow up on technical and operational agreements with partners, stakeholders and tracking commitments, timelines and agreed actions as well as flagging implementation issues to the Project Coordinator as appropriate.
Operational
• Organise and document meetings, workshops, and project-related activities, ensuring appropriate follow-up on agreed actions;
• Facilitate engagement and information flow with institutions, civil society organizations, victims’ organisations and other key stakeholders;
• Participate in internal coordination meetings, briefings and planning sessions with relevant internal teams at the country, regional and headquarters levels;
Consultancy requirements
• A degree in Social Sciences and postgraduate degree in international human rights or humanitarian law, or any related equivalent studies including in gender, transitional justice, peacebuilding or conflict resolution;
• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience working on human rights, humanitarian law and conflict-related seuxal violence, reparations, and/or transitional justice, including key exposure to academic work and publications as well as direct work with survivors ;
• Full proficiency in English and Spanish;
• Experience interacting working with survivors and survivor organisations, including participatory and survivor-centered approaches.
• Knowledge of the transitional justice framework as set out in Colombia’s Peace Agreement, the Victims and Land Restitution Law, including in relation to the scope and competences of the JEP;

Responsibilities:

OBJECTIVES OF THE CONSULTANCY
The primary objective is to support in developing IPPF’s strategic response to anti-rights opposition and the rollback of rights in the ACRO region. The consultant will provide expert analysis of opposition trends, legal frameworks, and geopolitical landscapes to advise on concrete response and mitigation initiatives.
SCOPE OF WORK AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The consultant will work in a temporary, from February 2026 to 31st of April 2026.
Key Responsibilities & Activities:
- Development of Regional Threat Map: Conduct a deep-dive analysis into the regional context (intel & trend analysis), identifying main opposition actors operating transnationally across the ACRO region. Unpack the evolving context, identify threats, narratives being used. The regional threat map will feed into the IPPF global threat map; The IPPF Threat Map is a dynamic tool designed to strengthen the International Planned Parenthood Federation’s (IPPF) cross-federation response to anti-rights opposition and to advance Sexual and Reproductive Health, Rights, and Justice (SRHRJ) globally. The map provides a comprehensive overview of the evolving landscape of threats, enabling both immediate and strategic long-term responses by IPPF member associations and departments.
- Regional Strategy Development: Suggest strategies to monitor anti-rights initiatives, events, and funding streams that threaten SRHRJ in LAC, advising on legal and geopolitical maneuvers to mitigate risks and protect IPPF members’ services.
- Case Studies: Provide particular focus and granular analysis on the scenarios in Chile and Venezuela
- Collaboration & Training: Organize two strategic meetings with IPPF Member Associations to share findings and co-create response strategies and identify opportunities for cross-country collaboration among MAs to create a unified front against opposition
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- SRHRJ Knowledge: Deep understanding of current global and regional trends/climates for SRHRJ and the "pushback" phenomenon.
- Opposition Monitoring: Proven experience in monitoring anti-rights actors, initiatives, and events in LAC
- Strategic Development: Demonstrated experience in developing strategies to counter opposition and rights rollbacks in LAC
- Network Experience: Experience working within large regional networks in LAC

Drummond Street Services (DS) and Cafs are working in partnership to deliver QHub, providing co-designed, place-based services to LGBTIQA+ young people and their families/carers across Ballarat, Geelong and the Surf Coast. Working alongside a range of organisations, LGBTIQA+ groups, individuals, families and communities, QHub will meet local needs and provide a range of safe, accessible and wrap around mental health and wellbeing support for local LGBITQA+ communities.
Your responsibilities
- Provide queer sensitive and affirmative counselling and case management services to a diverse range of LGBTIQA+ young people and their families, including people of colour and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, in Geelong, Ballarat and the Surf Coast
- Provide assessment, treatment and delivery of a range of evidence-based mental health interventions to individuals and families, ranging from crisis intervention to longer-term therapeutic engagement.
- Conduct bio psycho-social assessments of individual and family-based risk and protective factors associated with mental health outcomes and provide focussed therapeutic counselling and interventions for clients presenting with mental health conditions (eg anxiety, depression)
- Conduct assessments of risk and protective factors including comprehensive risk assessments as appropriate
- Develop and implement individual and/or family case plans in collaboration with the client or clients
- Provide appropriate referral to both internal and external support services to meet needs identified through the assessment and case planning processes
- Contribute to the development and delivery of group interventions relating to LGBTIQA+ health and well-being for the diverse range of LGBTIQA+ people and their families, including people of colour and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds

Loving Me is a by-and-for domestic abuse service for Trans+ people, providing specialist support, advocacy and safe accommodation to transgender, non-binary and gender-diverse people aged 18+ across England.
In 2023, we opened the UK’s first Trans+ domestic abuse refuge, offering safe, affirming accommodation for people at risk of harm. Loving Me is led and delivered by trans people with lived experience, ensuring our services are trauma-informed, gender-affirming and rooted in community need.
Loving Me is based at the Emily Davison Centre, home to over 40 practitioners working together to support people affected by abuse, violence and exploitation.

Domestic Abuse Support Worker (Frontline)You will provide high-quality, trauma-informed support to Trans+ adults experiencing domestic abuse, including those living in the Loving Me refuge. This role involves risk assessment, safety planning, advocacy, safeguarding, and multi-agency working.Domestic Abuse Young People’s Support Worker (Trans+)
This specialist role focuses on Trans+ young adults aged 18–25, many of whom face family rejection, isolation and multiple barriers to safety. You will deliver one-to-one and group support, advocacy, safeguarding, and work across the North West to increase access to inclusive services.
Social Work Degree Apprentice (BA Social Work – UCLan)This is a paid apprenticeship combining frontline practice with a BA in Social Work at the University of Central Lancashire. Tuition fees are fully covered. You’ll gain hands-on experience supporting Trans+ survivors of domestic abuse while studying toward professional qualification.
Time to Shine Leadership Role (Rank Foundation Programme)

International Women’s Rights Action Watch Asia Pacific is a women’s rights, feminist organisation committed to the full realisation of women’s human rights through the pursuit of equality. Together with other organisations in the women’s human rights movement, we act to challenge structures, systems, and institutions that violate women’s human rights.
Responsibilities and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Lead, develop and implement IWRAW Asia Pacific’s capacity strengthening strategy which includes approaches, analysis, focus areas and strategies to address structural issues of equality and discrimination and priority women’s human rights issues through a feminist and CEDAW lens. This includes:
● Coordinating all training programmes (national, regional and international) undertaken by IWRAW including any requests for ad-hoc technical assistance and other relevant capacity building activity
● Liaise with the team and pool of resource persons in coordinating the training and technical assistance programmes.
● Maintaining and growing the list of resource persons to support the capacity building programme.
● Coordinating the updating of existing knowledge resources and leading the creation of new resources/tools.
● Contributing towards conceptualising, planning, writing and editing of the training manual and other supplementary modules or materials for the trainings and technical assistance undertaken by IWRAW Asia Pacific.
● Incorporating the relevant learnings from the capacity building activities undertaken into IWRAW Asia Pacific’s key knowledge resources.
● Coordinating IWRAW Asia Pacific’s key learning space (“Institute”) and any other activities undertaken by IWRAW that are relevant to the capacity strengthening/building programme such as organising policy dialogues, thematic meetings and/or expert group meetings, in consultation with the Executive Director and selected team/ resource persons.
● Coordinating the preparation and finalisation of reports/documentation/evaluations of all capacity building activities. When required, writing and editing of the reports would have to be undertaken by the Capacity Building Officer.
● Build capacity a) of partners and women’s rights organisations on the use of CEDAW for accountability, movement-building and advocacy. b) develop skills and knowledge to enhance regional and cross-thematic/constituency movement building.
● Support the implementation of the partnership strategy as and when required
Minimum/Essential Qualifications
● Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Human Rights, and other related fields from a recognised university, or comparable professional qualifications.
● 5-8 years of experience working on women’s rights, grassroots mobilisation, movement building, feminism advocacy and collaboration, with at least 3 years of demonstrable experience in leading and developing learning agendas, training agendas and capacity building.
● Strong knowledge and experience in feminist and participatory approaches and training methodologies.
● Ability to design and conduct trainings, workshops and events both in-person and virtually.
● Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint and familiarity with online collaborative tools such as Canva, Miro, and Padlet.
