The opportunity
ILGA Oceania has funding to advocate for the decriminalisation of activity on the grounds of a person’s SOGIESC across the Pacific region and needs an experienced Executive Officer to lead its strategy and operations.
This role will see you turning your hard to a variety of responsibilities including:
- Working with the board on ongoing strategy
- Engaging with key stakeholders in the region to promote and coordinate decriminalisation work
- Establishing and leading all internal operations of the organisation
- Leading ILGA Oceania to deliver strategic and project outcomes.
This role is for three days per week until December 2024. Depending on funding, there may be an opportunity for contract renewal.
Location is flexible across the Pacific region.
About you
You have a deep commitment to human rights and social justice and experience in working with marginalised groups in the Oceania region. You must be from the region and have expertise and an intimate knowledge of human rights issues impacting LGBTIQ+ communities.
With experience as an Executive Officer, you bring a range of capabilities, including:
