What is The Pleasure Fellow Scheme 2025?
The Pleasure Fellow Scheme is a fellowship opportunity for anyone interested in advocating for pleasure in the sexual and reproductive health world. It consists of a series of online sessions where you’ll be given different tools and skills that are relevant to promote pleasure inclusive sexual health in your communities and/or at a global scale. These sessions will include speakers from our team at The Pleasure Project and external speakers.
Who can apply and participate in the Pleasure Fellow Scheme 2025?
We are looking for people who are passionate about promoting sexual pleasure and pleasure inclusive sexual health. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and groups. We encourage projects that represent and serve marginalized or underrepresented communities. We want to reach out to as many regions, identities and communities as possible and provide as many opportunities as we can to those who have been traditionally marginalized from initiatives and projects revolving around pleasure. We strongly encourage applicants from the Carribean, Pacific, and Asia regions to apply.
We encourage applications from a wide range of fields, including folks with medical training; faith and religious training; humanitarian and emergency workers; artists; creators, performers and professionals from ethical explicit media; experts in contraceptive research technologies, and folks working to transform patriarchal masculinities to apply. We invite anyone with a keen interest in promoting sexual pleasure regardless of their professional or advocacy background on sexual and reproductive health.
What kind of projects can we pitch for the scheme once accepted as fellows?
We do not have a preferred type of project - all kinds are welcome! We encourage applicants to think of projects that are clear, impactful and can be sustainable. Although we are aware that the funding is not much, a seed can transform into a tree. However, as the fellowship scheme will be in English, the pitch and final report would need to be in English.
What are the requirements of the Pleasure Fellow Scheme 2025 in order to participate as a fellowship member?
- Working knowledge of the English language, as all sessions and documentation will be presented in English.
- Availability to participate in online sessions which will take place approximately twice a month on Saturdays for five months (with a duration of 2h per session). Fellows will be asked to sign a document agreeing to assist for a minimum of sessions. Sessions will start in November 2025 and last until March 2026.
- Internet accessibility.
- Access to a bank account. Since fellows can be awarded up to $1,500 USD for their projects, they need to have a bank account that can receive TransferWise funding in dollars.
- Respect the deadlines and turn in deliverables.
- Adhere to the general guidelines of The Pleasure Fellowship.
