GBV / VAWGWomen Too Africa Foundation (WTA) is seeking a Feminist Legal Consultant to support the implementation of our Breaking Impunity Project.
We are looking for a feminist legal practitioner who understands that behind every enforcement gap, every dismissed case, and every unprosecuted femicide is a woman whose life and dignity deserved better from the institutions designed to protect her.
The consultant will lead two foundational streams of work to develop our Shadow Evidence Brief.
The first is a comprehensive desk review and legal analysis of VAPP Act enforcement records across Oyo, Osun, and Ogun States, examining court records, prosecution data, state ministry documentation, and civil society reporting to map exactly where the law is failing, how it is failing, and who is allowing it to fail.
The second is the documentation and legal validation of community-level testimonies gathered directly from survivors and frontline women defenders across purposively selected communities in our three target states. These testimonies are not supplementary material. They are the human evidence that transforms a legal brief from a policy document into an accountability instrument, placing the patterns, and institutional failures behind the statistics before the Oyo State House of Assembly and the judiciary.
The consultant will work with WTA's Program team to ensure every testimony is legally framed, carefully anonymised, and ethically handled in full accordance with our survivor protection protocol.
If you have a legal qualification, a demonstrated feminist analytical lens, solid knowledge of the VAPP Act and its enforcement landscape in Southwest Nigeria, and experience producing evidence-based legal briefs or legislative submissions for civil society bodies, we want to hear from you.

Climate & Environmental justice Leadership / governanceWhy you might love this opp:The team at Women’s Environmental Leadership Australia (WELA) is reshaping who leads - and how leadership is practised - across Australia’s climate and environmental movements. For nearly a decade, WELA has backed women and gender-diverse changemakers to build the confidence, capability, networks and support to drive meaningful change in their communities. Grounded in feminist leadership and environmental justice, WELA exists because the climate crisis is also a leadership challenge.
📅 Your week: Together with the team, you’re looking ahead - shaping priorities, aligning effort and creating clarity. One day, you’re reviewing program insights and cohort feedback, coaching the team to think critically about what’s needed next - whether that’s refining delivery, bringing in new expertise or shifting resources where they’ll have the greatest leverage. Another, you’re nurturing key partnerships and taking meetings to catalyse new ones. Throughout, you push a quick exec update out on income targets, while checking in with the Comms team because you know trust, ecosystem presence and shared purpose are what turn early conversations into meaningful long-term partnerships and org sustainability.🕶️ Your style: You’re the kind of person who works with intention. You listen carefully, your genuine curiosity helps you ask great questions, and you’re comfortable pausing to reflect before shifting course. You’d rather make a quick phone call than let a Slack or email thread turn into a Reddit forum, and you enjoy adapting your communication for different moments - whether it’s a board report, partner pitch or 1:1 check-in. When challenges arise, you naturally look for the solutions that help the puzzle come together again, and you’re confident holding accountability while empowering those around you.
💬 Inside WELA: This is a thoughtful, values-driven team with big ambition and deep integrity. The work is relational, nuanced and high trust, with a genuine commitment to flexible, family-friendly and sustainable ways of working. As a fully remote team, WELA is intentional about building a culture where collaboration and self-accountability co-exist, and where people feel supported, challenged and equipped to do their best work. The team cares deeply not just about what is delivered, but how people lead, work and grow together over time.💡 What you bring: You may have built the skills and experience for this role across a range of settings - from non-profit organisations, social enterprise, leadership development, education and training or other purpose-led environments. What matters is that you understand systems change, are values aligned and bring a balance of three things: strong people leadership, great organisational judgement and a deep understanding of leadership development. Your operational skills help create the conditions that sustainable organisational growth requires - balancing team performance, program quality, financial oversight, partnership development and revenue growth.*When clicking on “Apply”, you will be redirected to the original job announcement and details

It has now been more than six years since the AfCFTA entered into force, and significant steps have been taken towards the development and ratification of additional protocols of the Agreement. These include, among others, the development and negotiation of protocols on trade in goods and services, as well as the Protocol on Women and Youth in Trade. Under the Protocol on Women and Youth in Trade, AfCFTA State Parties commit to implement and monitor mechanisms to prevent, discourage, address, and eliminate all forms of harassment and related practices that compromise the security and safety of Women and Youth in Trade. While this does not specifically address labour rights, it contains some tenets of labour rights, namely inclusiveness and non-discrimination in the marketplace.
It is upon this background that FEMNET would like to commission an assessment on the rollout and implementation of the AfCFTA. The study will The main objective of the study will be to provide an understanding of the extent to which the AfCFTA has been implemented and learnings from the process, the opportunities and gaps for women and youth in trade, and how the agreement and related protocols can be strengthened to advance more feminist and gender-transformative outcomes. The study will be used a baseline to guide FEMNET’s engagement on the AfCFTA.
