Responsibilities and Duities
Research Leadership: Support the CEO in delivering Includovate’s objectives, including the formulation and implementation of its research agenda and substantive work programme:
- – Technically support all research activities within Includovate, determine priorities, and allocate resources for the completion of outputs and their timely delivery.
- – Formulate strategies and plans for research, ensuring that Includovate’s research activities promote our competitive position and profitability.
- – Develop research methodologies to strengthen research rigour by leveraging past experiences and academic knowledge.
Resource mobilisation and outreach:
- – Supports the CEO and business development team in consolidating, diversifying and expanding the organisation’s resource base, including developing research and project proposals.
- – Coordinates the implementation of resource mobilisation priorities, including proposal submissions and substantive reporting.
- – Acts as spokesperson and represents Includovate to clients and the broader public in internal and public fora to address gender & diversity issues;
Others:
- – Supports the CEO where required in managing and administrating the organisation, including preparing budgets, reporting on budget and programme performance, communications, recruiting qualified personnel and managing staff performance.
- – Fosters teamwork and communication across the Institute.
- – Prepare guidelines and resources for the research team with a focus on the development of research excellence.
Qualifications & Skills:
- – PhD (or equivalent qualifications) in relevant fields and extensive experience in developing, implementing and evaluating research, including an academic publication record.
- – Relevant experience leading a team of researchers: can build team commitment by demonstrating personal conviction; translates organisational strategy into meaningful long-term plans and objectives for own area of responsibility; motivates others to deliver against goals.
- – Multi-country experience through living abroad and through publications.
- – A strategic planner who sees the big picture entertains wide-ranging possibilities, develops a vision for the future, and can translate the strategic direction into day-to-day activities.
- – You have demonstrated knowledge and experience in gender equality, diversity and inclusion.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You may also be involved in designing and delivering research across our other portfolios. In addition to delivery, you will also be involved in winning new work, leading evaluation, research or MEL bid development and raising SDDirect’s external profile and reputation.

Gender-based violence (GBV)Background
The Global Survivors Fund (“GSF”) was launched in October 2019 by Dr Denis Mukwege and Nadia Murad, Nobel Peace Prize laureates 2018. Its mission is to enhance access to reparations for survivors of conflict-related sexual violence around the globe, thus responding to a gap long identified by survivors. GSF acts to provide interim reparative measures (IRM) in situations where states or other parties are unable or unwilling to meet their responsibilities. GSF advocates for duty bearers as well as the international community to develop reparations programmes. It also guides states and civil society by providing expertise and technical support for designing reparations programmes. GSF’s survivor-centric approach is the cornerstone of its work.
Role Summary
The intern will be responsible for supporting the activities of the ACT team working on projects for interim reparative measures, and will report to the Regional Coordinator for Africa. In addition, the intern will provide support to other members of the ACT team, in particular to the ACT management team and the IRM projects assistant.
Position Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following activities:
• Contribute to data analysis, research, drafting of note and reports related to ongoing or upcoming interim reparative measures projects
• Participate and report on projects meetings
• Support the organisation of exchanges on projects lessons learnt
• Support ACT internal coordination, including the collection of quotes, the update of projects flowcharts, of the mission calendar and other reporting documents
• Support the research and translation of tools in the ACT toolkit, from and into English/French, and Spanish if possible • Participate and report on ACT team meetings
• Participate in GSF team meetings
Position Requirements
Education and Experience
The position is open to students currently enrolled in a master's programme in international relations, international law, or another related topic. Recent graduates may also apply, but a preference will be given to students undertaking this internship as part of their studies.

The Generation G partnership strives towards the creation of gender-just and violence-free societies with and for young people in their full diversity. The partnership raises public support, advocates for improved policies and laws, and strengthens civil society to contribute to achieving gender justice. It thrives on the diversity, strength and collaboration of experts, evidence-based and evaluated approaches, cross-country learning, and global advocacy. Programme activities are running in seven countries in the Global South: Indonesia, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Rwanda, South Africa and Uganda, and will conclude at the end of calendar year 2025. As the end-term date of the programme approaches, the organisations and institutions involved in the programme are eager to investigate the results of their work, and document lessons about the successes and challenges of the programme to inform our future programming and the lobby and advocacy field as a whole.Scope of WorkMain tasks- Attend an orientation meeting with the global consultant and Generation-G team;
- Attend an end-term evaluation planning meeting in Rabat Morocco, which will be held from 2 – 6 December 2024. Participation is mandatory, you must be available for this week, and be eligible to fly to Morocco. All costs such as flight and hotel will be reimbursed by the lead agent Rutgers. Per diems and visa costs will be paid by the global consultant;
- Attend training on a) the Realist Evaluation approach (most likely this will integrated into the planning meeting week in Morocco), and b) data collection, including pre-testing the tools;
- Assist the national consultant on logistical planning and arrangements of the data collection activities;
- (Co)facilitate focus group discussions, key informant interviews and story of changes interviews at country level;
- Check the quality of the transcriptions of interviews and discussions.
- Provide input for the preliminary findings;
- Provide input for the final report.
Expected Deliverables (jointly with the national consultant)
- Recording of each interview and FGD session conducted;
- Summarised transcripts of interviews and FGD sessions in English;
- Field notes of how the field work was implemented (including supporting and hindering factors during the field work, observation notes);

Qualifications and specialised knowledge, experience and skills required

The Gender Section is based in the Office of the Secretary-General. Task Description
Under the direction of the Head of Gender Section:
• Provide policy advice on gender aspects in the thematic areas of social, economic and sustainable development to the Secretariat and to member countries;

Scope of the Framework Contract
Throughout the duration of the Framework Contract, pre-selected Providers may be asked to:
✓ Draft a general mapping of existing knowledge and relevant work within and outside CoE on anti-gender rhetoric and a preliminary assessment of effective positive narratives and activities to promote gender equality. Deadline for delivery: 20.12.2024
✓ Present the preliminary findings of the above, at a workshop during a meeting of the Council o Europe Gender Equality Commission (GEC) on 20.11.2024 in Strasbourg, France.
✓ Support/prepare the work of a GEC working group on anti-gender rhetoric throughout 2025; ✓ Participate in the meetings if the GEC working group on anti-gender rhetoric. Meeting 1: one day, online, February-March 2025 (exact date tbc); Meeting 2, one day, online, June 2025 (exact date tbc).
✓ Participate and contribute to the second annual GEC plenary meeting of 2025 (November 2025, exact date tbc)

Key Responsibilities

CONSULTANT PROFILE
● Experience:- ○ Minimum of 5 years experience in organisational governance and policy development, preferably within non-profit organisations.
- ○ Proven experience in developing Board Manuals or similar governance documents.
- ○ Demonstrated knowledge of governance best practices and legal requirements in Kenya.
- ○ Note: We value experience and practical knowledge. If you have significant experience in governance without a formal background in this area, we still encourage you to apply.
● Skills:- ○ Strong writing and organisational skills.
- ○ Ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including board members and senior leadership.
- ○ Experience in facilitating consultations and feedback sessions.
● Education:- ○ A degree in Organisational Development, Business Administration, Law, or a related field. Please note that we will focus on your relevant experience more than your formal degree. We encourage you to apply if you have significant experience in this area.
- ○ Professional certifications related to governance or board development are an added advantage but are not required if significant relevant experience is demonstrated.
