Movement buildingThe Girls First Fund (GFF) was created in 2018 by a group of philanthropic partners who believed that community-based organizations are the key drivers of change to end child, early, and forced marriage or unions. As a global collaborative fund, GFF channels flexible, multi-year funding and tailored support to mainly girl- and women-led organizations advancing locally rooted, gender-transformative solutions.
The Role
Reporting to the Advisory Committee, Girls First Fund seeks their next Director to steward the organization, its strategy, its partnerships, and its role championing community-led efforts so that all girls can live free from child marriage and create their own future. The Director will be responsible for leading GFF’s work increasing the financial resources channeled to community-based organizations to prevent and respond to child marriage, and amplifying the voices of these vital organizations. The Director will lead and collaborate with a team of 20, many of whom have been with the organization since it’s founding. The Director is ultimately responsible for the strategic, grantmaking, and financial operations of the organization.
Candidate Profile
GFF is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and inspirational leader with a passion for advancing community-based, girlcentered, and gender-transformative work. The Director will bring deep experience, networks, and relationships across philanthropic and advocacy spheres—and enthusiasm for mobilizing the resources and donor community needed to sustain and grow this work. The Director will ideally bring the following set of skills and experiences to the position:
Fundraising and donor relations: Experience cultivating institutional and individual donors will be critical for the next Director, as they sustain and expand GFF’s funding base. The next Director will bring an existing network of funder relationships and the ability to build new partnerships for the organization.
Grassroots CBO connection: The next Director will bring deep experience with grassroots community-based organizations in the Global South and an understanding of the challenges they face. They will bring an authentic connection to GFF’s partners and grantees, drawing from their experience.
External engagement: The Director will be skilled in external representation, drawing from their experience representing organizations globally across a variety of spaces and audiences including philanthropy, feminist movements, the movement to end child and early forced marriage, community-based organizations and more.

We work at the invitation of governments to support them and the private sector to create and sustain high-quality health systems.Position DescriptionThe Program Officer will support the integration of Gender Equality Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) throughout a comprehensive program of work in Papua New Guinea to strengthen the prevention, screening, and early management of diabetes and hypertension within primary health care systems.This position is part of a wider project to strengthen the provision of high quality and equitable prevention, screening and management services for diabetes and hypertension within primary health care systems in Pacific and Southeast Asian countries. The Assistant Program Officer will be supporting the building resilient and people-centred health systems for non-communicable disease prevention and control in Pacific and Southeast Asian countries (RESist-NCD) Program, which is funded by the Australian Government through the Partnerships for a Healthy Region Program.RESist-NCD is a consortium of teams from The George Institute for Global Health, the University of New South Wales and Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI). In Papua New Guinea, RESist-NCD partners with CHAI to deliver this work.This is a part-time role, requiring a commitment of 0.5 FTE (3 working days per week). The weekly schedule will be agreed upon with the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in international development, social work, community development, gender mainstreaming, political science, business administration, project management or any related field.
- At least 3 years of practical demonstrated experience in GEDSI program coordination, capacity development, and/or training roles.
- Knowledge of PNG gender equality, disability and social inclusion issues, challenges, norms and transformative programming practice.
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform tasks to high quality and in a timely manner.

Position Overview
The Senior Technical Advisor – Maternal Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) provides expertise and technical leadership for ACHIEVE programming in MNCH to ensure technical and programmatic quality. S/he provides leadership in the design, planning, implementation, monitoring, and documentation of ACHIEVE’s strategic and technical approaches in MNCH programming, applying state-of-the-art science and ensuring alignment with global guidelines, standards, and protocols; provides direct technical assistance to ACHIEVE consortium and sub-partner organizations implementing MNCH activities; contributes to ongoing knowledge exchange and skill transfer across the global project; and supports growth and expansion of MNCH programming under ACHIEVE as possible.
Basic Requirements
- Master’s degree and 9+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced clinical degree or MD/PhD (preferred), or master’s degree in health-related field and equivalent experience.
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience, including international public health programming, with at least 5 years relevant overseas work experience.
- Significant and successful experience working in international development and/or public health programs, with focus on Maternal Newborn and Child Health.
- Experience providing direct technical assistance in developing countries.
- Proven programmatic, technical, and managerial ability and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with professional colleagues in a broad range of local and international nongovernmental, governmental, and international organizations within multiple socio-cultural contexts.
- Demonstrated organizational, consulting, and mentoring and coaching skills and abilities, sound judgment, and high ethical standards.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Experience with USG including PEPFAR programming highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and spoken English, including excellent skills in drafting business correspondence.
- Demonstrated ability to write journal articles, research studies, and technical reports.
- Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to use epidemiological tools, such as EPI Info or other similar software highly desirable.
