Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DEI)
Generic (e.g. 'gender focal point' role
1. Design and develop a strategic action plan for the implementation of the overall Framework. In this regard, the incumbent will be responsible for putting in place the necessary tools and guidelines, reviewing existing policies and practices and advising on best practice, including:
- Advise and put in place tools and guidelines to ensure gender parity in WTO internal committees, boards and other bodies.
- Review current HR policies with the aim of ensuring family friendly provisions, diversity and gender equality (e.g. parental leave provisions, facilities for breastfeeding, etc.).
- Develop recommendations on gender-neutral language in key publications, and reporting tools which reflect diversity in its entirety.
2. Working with the Learning Service in HRD and the Office of Internal Oversight, design and develop a training programme and internal communications on diversity, equity and inclusion issues, including prevention of sexual harassment and discrimination, and overcoming biases, with the objective of building awareness and encouraging positive behaviours in line with the Framework. The incumbent will also monitor and evaluate the extent to which managers and staff are undertaking the necessary training and are complying with HR policies.
3. Take charge of data analytics and reporting on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. This includes the following responsibilities:
4. Conduct equal pay reviews periodically using progressive tools and methodologies to embed gender equity with WTO operations and ensure that recommendations related to DEI policies and standards are efficiently implemented.
5. Contribute to the development and coordination of consistent and impactful organization-wide communications on workforce diversity, equity and inclusion.
6. Liaise with key stakeholders within the organization (Office of Internal Oversight, Transformation Office, Staff Council, etc.) and with counterparts in other entities to monitor developments and best practice with regard to diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, and consider their suitability for the WTO.
7. Undertake any other tasks that may be requested by the Director of HRD.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced university degree in Human Resources Management, Psychology, Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Public Policy, Human Rights, International Development or other related discipline.
Minimum eight years of relevant experience, including proven experience in diversity, inclusion or gender equity field, social services and/or organisational development. Experience in the development and implementation of gender, diversity and inclusion related strategies within designated timeframes.

Understanding of the WTO administrative rules and regulations and in particular the WTO Staff Regulations and Staff Rules, or similar rules in other international organizations.
Good IT skills including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to manipulate and analyze data using Excel or other software is required.
Fluency in English (at a level corresponding or equivalent to a minimum of C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)) and a good knowledge of French and/or Spanish (minimum B2 level)
