Movement building
Direct Fundraising–Major gift donor cultivation, solicitation, engagement, and stewardship
- Oversees, leads, and prioritizes the growth of major gifts revenue, including instituting best practices in cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of five-, six-, and seven-figure individual, institutional, and corporate donors.
- In partnership with AVP Philanthropy, senior leadership, and other stakeholders, supports the development and implementation of an innovative, progressive, and values-aligned vision and strategic framework for Equality Fund’s feminist philanthropy program
- Works with the Philanthropy team to grow EF’s base of support from individuals, institutions, and corporations using traditional and trending forms of donor prospecting and engagement, including prospect researcher(s) to identify and qualify supporters at major donor levels.
Leadership and Management
- Ensures ongoing integration of EF annual organizational priorities into the philanthropy program
- The Director is accountable for the team’s goals and risk management relating to meeting the annual fund mobilization targets in coordination with AVP, Philanthropy. The Director is also expected to propose corrective measures when needed.
- Leads the Philanthropy team in creating and implementing a comprehensive fundraising plan to achieve annual philanthropic revenue and programmatic goalsProvides thought leadership for increased growth, opportunities for innovation, and efforts to increase diversity among donors and diversification of gifts.
Donor communications and philanthropy team collateral
- Leads and implements regular updates/impact reporting to prospects and donors
- Prepares and writes personalized proposals, reports, letters, emails, and notes for donor cultivation.
- Co-leads digital strategies that foster community growth that showcase EF’s efforts
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
- Undergraduate degree in business, international development or related field.
- CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive) designation is considered an asset, but is not required.
- Minimum seven to ten years of progressive fund development experience in the not-for-profit sector, with a track record of establishing meaningful donor relationships and programs.
- Experience building thoughtful, engaging and unique donor programs, and in particular, women’s giving programs
- Experience developing and implementing fundraising plans/strategy/campaigns and having a track record of securing philanthropic donations in the range of $10K+
- Comfort and ability to manage ambiguity and an ambitious philanthropic raise
- Experience providing strategic direction, leadership, and management of fundraising activities resulting in income and donor base growth.
