Purpose of the Role
This is an opportunity to join the Sexual Violence Research Initiative team, facilitating the development of creative and innovative approaches to capacity strengthening globally and to support the Global Advocacy Director in terms of our strategy around knowledge translation and building influence to shift, disrupt and strengthen the field. The role will oversee the capacity strengthening pillar of SVRI strategy, including the creation and implementation of a clear plan for this pillar, along with liaison and coordination with key partners in the fields of VAW and VAC on capacity strengthening building – ensuring we build on and amplify existing efforts as well as innovate to support researchers and practitioners in LMICs are undertaking rigorous, impactful research on VAW and child sexual violence (CSV).
The incumbent will design and use approaches, methodologies, and tools for researchers and practitioners in LMICs that will foster rigorous and ethical VAW and CSV research, effective leadership, enhance management and administrative capabilities, build linkages with other institutions, build fundraising capabilities, and position researchers / practitioners and their organisations as leaders in their fields. They will also provide where needed one-on-one mentoring, on-demand technical assistance (TA), learning-by-doing activities, group trainings, and relationship building with partners on important capacity gaps identified by the field. This person will also work closely with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (ME&L) team to ensure SVRIs capacity strengthening output, outcome, and impact indicators are met. This role reports to the Global Advocacy Director.
