Job Summary
AWDF is currently searching for a Partnerships and Philanthropy Intern – French Speaking who will be responsible for providing administrative, communications, and translation support in French to the AWDF Partnerships and Philanthropy Department. The main objective of this department is to establish and nurture partnerships, as well as to engage in, and with, the philanthropic ecosystem.
The selected candidate will leverage French to support the team to engage various internal and external stakeholders. The post holder will work closely with the Partnerships and Philanthropy team to ensure effective communication and promote language justice and inclusion within the team.
Specific Duties
- The assignment aims to support the Partnerships and Philanthropy team while offering the intern an opportunity to learn and grow through collaboration.
- The intern's primary responsibility is to provide administrative, communications, and translation support, ensuring effective engagement between AWDF and its partners, stakeholders, and beneficiaries.
The roles and responsibilities are as follows.
- The primary responsibility of the intern will be to provide administrative, communications, and translation support in French.
- The intern should have a working knowledge of English and French fluency as a requirement for this role. The intern will be responsible for:
- Administrative support: Supporting the team in administrative tasks as/when needed.
- Communications support: Supporting the team to effectively and efficiently embody language justice, by reinforcing communications with various stakeholders within the ecosystem in French.
- Translation support: Translating short documents, emails, and other relevant materials (including agendas, terms of reference, etc.) from English to French. The translation work will be crucial in ensuring effective communication between the Partnerships and Philanthropy team and relevant partners.
- The intern will work closely with the team to ensure that all communication materials are accurate, culturally appropriate, and promote language justice and inclusion within the team and with its external stakeholders.
- The intern will also be expected to participate in team meetings, contribute to brainstorming sessions, and assist with other tasks as needed.
The Partnerships and Philanthropy Intern – French-speaking role is an exciting opportunity for an African feminist who is passionate about gender justice. The role provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in partnerships and philanthropy within a feminist fund, while also developing administrative, communications, and translation skills and promoting language inclusion within the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Political Science, Law, Social and/or Gender justice, Communications, International Relations and/or any other related qualifications
- Fluency in French, strong written and verbal communication skills, and working knowledge of English.
