RESPONSIBILITIES 
Leadership and Management
  • Works closely with CELIA and CoEDs, and in consultation with all FRIDA staff, to outline, oversee and support a comprehensive strategy for FRIDA’s internal Operational Systems, including its Admin systems and processes. Serves as a proactive strategic thought partner to the Co-Executive Directors and Managers on organizational strategy and planning, including internal operations and systems, organizational business compliance, data sharing, technology, team management, and growth;
  • Supervises FRIDA’s Administration and Finance teams. Plays a strong director role for these teams, overseeing work such as: team work planning, team budget development and team monitoring, planning, monitoring, evaluation, and learning. Has final authority over Q&A for these teams, and leads by example to promote a healthy and happy team work culture. Supervises the Managers of these teams, and consultants and other staff as relevant. This entails regular check-ins with supervisees, designing team accountability mechanisms, ensuring team members have a clear work plan and priorities, supporting their professional development, growth and self care, and facilitating team coaching and bonding;
 
Financial management 
  • Supports FRIDA’s Co-Executive Directors and CELIA in financial planning for the organization, playing a co-lead role in the annual organizational budgeting process and working closely with each team manager to support sub-team budgeting;
  • Supports FRIDA’s Co-Executive Directors, CELIA and Finance and Resource Mobilization Teams in ongoing organizational budget, balance and cash flow monitoring, including identifying financial needs;
  • Forms part of FRIDA’s Finance Committee along with staff and Board members, supporting FRIDA’s organizational financial needs;
 
External visibility and representation
  • Represents FRIDA in a positive way and is a public face for the organization in support of FRIDA’s missions and strategic goals;
  • Ensures positive relationships with partner organizations, policymakers, media, and others;
  • Supports FRIDA’s Philanthropic Advocacy efforts.
 
Required Expertise & Skills
  • University degree, or equivalent training/experience, focus in international development, community development, nonprofit management, human rights, or a related field;
  • A strong understanding of women human rights, feminist movements, advocacy and the funding eco-system surrounding young feminist activism;
  • At least 6-8 years of experience in: managing operational systems, overseeing administration systems, strategic oversight of teams, leading participatory decision-making and consultation processes, feminist accountability and support, and financial planning and budgeting;
  • At least 6-8 years of experience working with teams with members based in multiple countries and regions, preferably across diverse areas of the Global South;
  • At least 5 years of experience in supervising a team of 5 or more staff members;
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally, at least twice a year when conditions allow.
