Purpose & Vision
GEN VIC represents individuals and organisations across Victoria that advance gender equity and hold values that align with feminist principles.

Our purpose is to make transformative change to reduce gender inequity in Victoria. We have a vision for a thriving gender equity movement in Victoria that holds government, institutions, private organisations, and civil society to account for their commitments and actions towards ending gender inequity in Victoria.

GEN VIC recognises that the current patriarchal gender order in society disproportionately impacts negatively on women, gender diverse and non-binary people. We believe in working collaboratively with others, being transparent in what, why, and how we do things, and working with those impacted by oppression to make change.

GEN VIC leads, advocates, and enables gender equity by listening to and supporting Victorian women, gender-diverse and non-binary people and working collaboratively with the gender equity sector to amplify and grow their voice and influence.
