The objectives of this internship opportunity with the Mukwege Foundation are to:  

  1.  Support the Foundation in raising awareness about conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) as well as ways to prevent and end such atrocities; 
  2.  Support the Communication Specialist with content management, event logistics, news monitoring, evaluation, and other communication- related tasks.  
Scope of work

Working closely with the Communications Specialist and the global team of the Mukwege Foundation, the intern will conduct the following assignments:

Content development support (60%): 
  1. Conduct desktop research on conflict-related sexual violence and related themes 
  2. Co-manage the Foundation’s social media platforms, schedule and create content to grow and engage followers 
  3. Co-manage the Foundation’s website, including writing and posting articles. 
  4. Conduct interviews and collect information for the quarterly newsletters 
  5. Assist the development of campaign and fundraising toolkits, e.g.: e-flyers, web-banners, short animations, etc 

General support with communications-related tasks (40%): 
  1. Assist knowledge management process by curating audio-visual assets on Sharepoint 
  2. Support the logistical preparations for community events 
  3. Monitoring and reporting news on conflict-related sexual violence 
  4. Other relevant communication tasks as directed by the management.
