Malteser International (MI) has been working in Nigeria since 2017, implementing humanitarian and development interventions across Borno, Adamawa, Katsina, and Benue States. MI supports vulnerable internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host communities through interventions in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), food and nutrition security, and livelihoods.WASH activities focus on improving access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene through the distribution of non-food items (NFIs), solarization of boreholes, rehabilitation of hand pumps, construction of latrines, and hygiene promotion. MI also implements nutrition and food security interventions to address the needs of vulnerable populations, improve their well-being, and strengthen community resilience.
