General Information about the Haya Karima Foundation
Haya Karima Foundation is an Egyptian non-governmental organisation established in 2019, following the launch of the national “Haya Karima” (Decent Life) initiative, and registered with the Ministry of Social Solidarity under registration no. 902 of 2019. It serves as the official umbrella for organising the efforts of young volunteers and supporting the national project to develop rural Egypt.
The Foundation works in human development and community development through field offices and volunteer networks across the governorates, and seeks to improve living standards and promote dignity and sustainable development for all community members.
Information about the Project
Project Strengthening Community-Based Systems for VAWG and Harmful Practices (HP) Prevention, Protection and Response through Haya Karima: Engaging Change Agents for Sustainable Social and Behavioral Change aims to strengthen the response to GBV, FGM, VAWG and SRH in eight governorates, in line with the UNFPA Country Programme. It is implemented by the Haya Karima Foundation with funding and technical support from UNFPA Egypt between 1 October and 31 December 2026.
As part of the implementation of the project, this consultancy falls within Activity one in the project. It comes within the plan to build the capacity of trainers from Haya Karima field offices through a Training of Trainers (ToT), followed by online mentorship during the implementation of their cascade workshops until the end of December 2026. This aims to raise their competence in GBV, FGM, VAWG and SRH response and referral pathways and in training skills, which supports the quality of the services provided to women and girls.
