Background & Strategic Context
The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) is a global federation of Member Associations (MAs) and Collaborative Partners (CPs) working across more than 150 countries to deliver sexual and reproductive health services, advance rights, and advocate for policy change. IPPF’s efforts include health services, sex education, policy change, assistance in crises, and advocacy from grassroots communities to national and international political arenas. We advance and defend rights, shape public health approaches and services, and change narratives of sexual and reproductive health and rights.
IPPF has been implementing its customized version of OpenEMR across MA clinics for close to 20 years. This system supports the delivery of high-quality client care, strengthens data use, and improves the flow of health information within MAs. IPPF seeks to continually maintain, enhance, and expand the functionality of OpenEMR across its clinic network. This includes ensuring system stability, supporting MA implementations, and enabling ongoing innovation.
The objective of the services being procured is to provide ongoing development and technical support services for IPPF’s OpenEMR platform, ensuring it remains robust, scalable, and responsive to the needs of MAs.
This will be a time and materials contract, with a start date of 1 January 2027, IPPF estimates between 300-350 hours per year of support with an anticipated initial duration of two years, subject to performance and organizational needs.
