Gender-based violence (GBV)
You would be responsible for:
Under the supervision of the WoS GBV Coordinator, the consultant(s) will: 
  1. Input FGD data into data entry tool MAXQDA for GBV, Child protection, general protection and mine action sectors using the coding tree provided: 
  2. Data entry (coding) for around 120 community FGDs. 
  3. Data entry for up to 8 GBV Expert FGDs.
  4. Enter all GBV secondary data provided by the Whole of Syria coordinator and code it according to the system provided.
  5. Extract quotes from FGDs and code them by “topic” in order to facilitate the development of the final report. 
  6. Hold a 2 hours workshop to present and discuss preliminary findings with GBV coordinators.
  7. Draft the analysis of all GBV data to produce the VOICES From Syria, HNO GBV Analysis report. The report should also include triangulation with quantitative data from the Multi-Sectoral Needs Assessment provided by the WoS GBV team.

Qualifications and Experience: 
Education:   Advanced Degree in social science, gender, health and related fields 
  1. Minimum 7 years’ experience in the field of gender based violence and specifically in social work in humanitarian setting 
  2. Excellent written and spoken English, Arabic language an advantage 
  3. Experience in GBV assessment and analysis 
  4. Experience in gathering and analyzing qualitative data, including through qualitative data analysis software like Maxqda or other 
  5. Knowledge of the Syria crisis an advantage 
  6. Excellent analytical and writing skills 
  7. Proactive attitude to identify and propose practical steps and recommendations  
  8. Excellent inter-personal skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural and changing environment, communication skills, teamwork, analytic thinking, planning and organizing, time management, creativity and innovation and client orientation.
