About the assignment
We are looking for a communications expert to help shape and deliver our Justice on Our Terms campaign, launching on 24 November for the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence.

The campaign grows out of the Roma Feminist Monitor, which connects community-led evidence with national and European advocacy. Through focus groups and country analyses, we aim to work with partners in six countries across the EU and Western Balkans to document Roma women’s experiences of gender-based, institutional and structural violence, and the gaps in protection and accountability.

Our partners are part of the campaign: they will help shape its messages, contribute local perspectives and bring the campaign to their networks.

Connecting with this year’s call to ensure justice, protect survivors and end impunity, we want to ask: what does justice mean for Roma women when institutions themselves cause harm or fail to provide support and protection? Our campaign will make these responsibilities visible while showing Roma women as organisers, knowledge producers and people shaping their own liberation.

Your role
You will turn verified monitoring findings into clear, engaging campaign materials that people can understand, share and use in their organising. Working with our monitoring lead,
advocacy expert and partners, you will connect evidence, political demands and visual storytelling.

Experience and approach
We are looking for someone who brings:

Experience delivering feminist, anti-racist and social justice campaigns, ideally with grassroots organisations.

Strong graphic design and layout skills, including experience creating zines, infographics and social media carousels using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent tools. Excellent writing and editing skills in English, with an ability to make research and policy findings accessible.
Experience working sensitively with qualitative evidence and community stories. Experience working on gender-based violence, structural racism and institutional accountability, and a willingness to engage with Roma feminist work.
Good coordination skills and the ability to work with several partners within a short campaign timeline.

Experience with Roma communities or racialized communities, additional relevant languages and video editing are welcome. We value relevant portfolios and community organising experience. Romani and racialized women are prioritised and particularly encouraged to apply.

Working together
You will coordinate with the Collective’s Director and work closely with the monitoring lead, advocacy expert and national partners.

The monitoring lead will verify findings; the advocacy expert will lead on policy recommendations and institutional demands. You will lead on accessible language, visual storytelling, campaign production and online publication. The Collective will agree a clear approval process and timely feedback
