The project
EQUITY-AF is a Horizon Europe-funded project that aims to improve the diagnosis and treatment of atrial fibrillation by addressing differences related to biological sex and sociocultural gender factors.

The project will develop a sex-specific risk prediction tool that integrates hormonal, genetic and social factors. This approach aims to improve diagnostic technologies and inform more effective treatment strategies for people with atrial fibrillation.

The project brings together experts from several European countries. At Amsterdam UMC, the work package on sociocultural gender determinants is coordinated by Dr. David Doyle at the Department of Medical Psychology, Amsterdam UMC, location VUmc. You will work closely with Dr. Doyle's research group and collaborate with an international, interdisciplinary network of researchers in cardiovascular health.
