We are the Reproductive Rights Activist Collective: a volunteer-led network of community organisers for reproductive rights and justice.
We are looking for proactive, digitally savvy social media volunteers to help grow our online presence and build an engaged community around our work.
Distinct roles:
- Socials video editor. Be the face of RRAC on social media. You’ll help turn reproductive justice issues, RRAC campaigns and current news into engaging short-form video content — from coming up with ideas and writing scripts to recording and editing videos.
- Social media designer. Help give RRAC’s social media a distinctive visual identity that is beautiful, bold, accessible and unmistakably activist. You’ll create images, graphics and infographics that help us communicate complex reproductive justice issues in ways that are eye-catching and easy to understand.
- Social media generalist. Help grow RRAC’s social media presence and build an engaged community around our work. You’ll support the day-to-day running of our accounts, with a particular focus on growing Instagram and getting our LinkedIn presence up and running. You’ll help us find relevant conversations, organisations and people to engage with, respond to audiences and look for opportunities to increase our reach and engagement.
For more information on each role, please check out our Reach Volunteering page: https://reachvolunteering.org.uk/org/reproductive-rights-activist-collective
You’ll work closely with our small, friendly comms team to plan and schedule content, while also keeping an eye on what’s happening across social media. You’ll help us find relevant conversations, organisations and people to engage with, respond to audiences and look for opportunities to increase our reach and engagement.
Who are we looking for?
We're looking for someone with:
- Social media savvy: Strong understanding of platform dynamics, with a particular focus on Instagram and setting up LinkedIn.
- Community engagement skills: Comfortable interacting with followers, creators, and partner organisations with good judgement and active online communication.
- Planning & organisation: Reliable and organized, able to help plan, schedule, and keep track of content within a light, manageable volunteer commitment.
- Alignment with our values: A strong commitment to reproductive justice and RRAC’s core values (anti-racist, sex-positive, trans-inclusive, and pro-abortion).
We ask that volunteers are able to commit to ~4h per week of volunteering, and are available for fortnightly team meetings at 6.15pm UK time on Wednesdays. WhatsApp savvy is also a must, as that's how we do most of our communications between meetings.
What's in it for me?
You'll join a committed team of campaigners, community organising and reproductive justice experts at an exciting time for our Collective. You'll have access to learning opportunities on repro justice and community organising skills through internal training sessions.
