 ICRW has launched a learning project to understand the processes and strategies adopted by five different CSO partners to address challenges faced by IWWs and amplify their influence on women’s livelihood trajectories and personal empowerment. Using a gender and intersectional lens, the initiative will document transformative journeys, emerging evidence from intervention sites, and analysis of existing data to inform future programming and investment. As part of this project, qualitative research including FGDs, IDIs and KIIs will be conducted in different states in India. We are seeking the support of a female consultant, fluent in Tamil and English and based in Bangalore, who can assist us with holding in-depth interviews, key informant interviews and focus group discussion as required in the field. We are looking for a mid-career researcher with 4-7 years of experience of conducting qualitative research. Fluency in Kannada is an added advantage.

Scope of Work:
 • Travel with the research team to community and centres in Bangalore and Hosur for data collection.
• Conduct IDIs, FGDs and KIIs in Tamil and translating them in English simultaneously for the team’s understanding.
• Share notes from each data collection activity in English.
• Conduct verbatim transcription of each data collection activity in English.

• Transcription of each data collection activity in English Timeline: This is a short-term assignment scheduled for September 2026 for approximately 10 days. The tentative dates are 19th to 30th September 2026.
