Background
The Global Survivors Fund (GSF) was launched in October 2019 by Dr Denis Mukwege and Nadia Murad, 2018 Nobel Peace Prize laureates. Our mission is to enhance access to reparations for survivors of conflict-related sexual violence around the globe, thus responding to a gap long identified by survivors. GSF acts to provide interim reparative measures in situations where states or other parties are unable or unwilling to meet their responsibilities, and advocates for duty bearers as well as the international community to develop reparations programmes. We also guide states and civil society by providing expertise and technical support for designing reparations programmes. Our survivor-centric approach is the cornerstone of our work.

Role Summary 
The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer will play a key role in supporting GSF's growing portfolio of reparative measures projects, ensuring that evidence, learning, and accountability remain at the centre of our work with survivors of conflict-related sexual violence. Working as part of the MEL team, the MEL Officer will support the delivery of MEL priorities and outputs at both country and organisational levels. This includes supporting monitoring activities, learning and reflection processes, contributing to reporting requirements, and implementing GSF's evaluation methodologies. A key focus of this role will be the design, coordination, and implementation of qualitative research approaches to generate evidence on the results of reparative measures projects. The ideal candidate will bring a strong commitment to conducting MEL processes in ways that are survivor-centred and culturally responsive.
Position Requirements

Education and Experience
  • Advanced university degree (Masters-level) in Social Sciences, Education, Development Studies, or a related field; 
    At least 5 years’ professional experience in monitoring, evaluation, research and/or learning roles;
    Experience designing and conducting research with survivors of conflict-related sexual violence and children is an asset. 

Other Requirements

  •  Demonstrated commitment to ethical research practices, safeguarding principles, confidentiality, and the protection of survivors participating in MEL activities;
    Experience contributing to the design and refinement of MEL frameworks, tools, and indicator matrices;
    Excellent writing and reporting skills, including authorship or significant contribution to evaluation reports, research outputs, learning products, or academic publications;
    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including civil society organisations;
    Fluency in English is required. Fluency in French, Spanish and/or Arabic is an asset; 
    Ability to work independently while maintaining close coordination with remote teams; 
    Ability and willingness to travel internationally as required (estimated 20%);
    Previous experience in working on sexual health and reproductive rights, gender-based violence, and/or working with survivors of conflict-related sexual violence in diverse, including humanitarian settings;
    Experience evaluating education-focused programmes;
    Experience conducting evaluations involving children;
    Knowledge of reparations processes and survivor-centred approaches.
