Who We Are
Manushya means “Human Being” in Sanskrit, a reminder that we are #WeAreManushyan ∞ Equal Human Beings. Founded in 2017 by Emilie Palamy Pradichit, a feminist activist and international human rights lawyer born stateless to Lao political refugees, Manushya Foundation is a decolonial and intersectional feminist organisation building cross-border infrastructures of protection, solidarity, and accountability across Asia. Grounded in lived experience and collective care, we strengthen the political power and decision-making leadership of feminists, youth movements, and frontline communities. We shift authority away from elite, gatekeeping institutions that have long controlled funding, policy, and narrative power.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Feminist Campaigns Fellow
For an emerging journalist or activist-campaigner with a strong political voice and a compelling pen. You will strengthen the writing behind Manushya’s campaigns, newsletters, and media engagement to advance and amplify frontline communities’ advocacies and demands with conviction. You will receive guidance, feedback, and room to develop your own voice in alignment with Manushya’s tone, vision, and values.
2. Digital Content & Community Fellow
For a creative, organised social media content creator who understands Thai audiences and online culture. You will work closely with the Communications & Programme Associate to keep Manushya’s day-to-day social media engine moving while bringing our short-form video strategy, focused on showcasing underserved grassroots voices and realities, and Thai-language content to life.
Shared Responsibilities
● Participate in communications planning, team meetings, and collaborative workflows.
● Support live event coverage.
● Other tasks as assigned by the Communications and Campaigns Manager
About You
You are a fierce and bold feminist who cares deeply about centering frontline communities and believes communications can shift narrative power. You bring curiosity, initiative, care, and the discipline to turn strong ideas into accurate and timely work. Both Fellows Bring
● Commitment to decolonial and intersectional feminism, human rights, and structural justice.
● 1-3 years of relevant experience. We value lived expertise, paid employment, freelance work, volunteering, movement organising, community work, and training; all of these count.
● Strong organisation, attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to manage deadlines.
● Agility within a lean human rights team: you can respond thoughtfully to emerging priorities, communicate early when timelines or capacity shift, and ask for support when needed. ● Sound judgment and care when handling sensitive stories, consent, and digital safety
● A collaborative approach and a growth mindset
