About The Opportunity

Just The Pill seeks 2-3 compassionate, self-sufficient & tech savvy abortion care providers to join our expanding fully-remote abortion care and sexual health clinic. We are looking for at least one provider with licensure in California or New York who is willing and able to offer asynchronous services nationwide via shield law provision, and one additional provider licensed in Colorado and/or Minnesota offering synchronous/asynchronous services.

Just the Pill – Abortion Care Provider – Key Roles and Responsibilities

Patient Care:

  • Provide reproductive health services, including medication abortion, contraception, and other sexual health synchronous appointments.
  • Deliver compassionate and evidence-based care, ensuring a positive experience for every patient.
  • Provide evidence-based counseling & trauma-informed care in a culturally humble, inclusive, and judgment-free approach to patients from diverse racial, ethnic, sexual orientation, and gender identity backgrounds. 
  • Communication & interaction with patients via phone and video with comfort & ease.
  • On-call clinical support, answering patient questions outside of clinic hours, as needed (This would be as backup support to our after hours call service).
Clinical Care & Competency:

  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture based on honesty, trust, and mutual accountability.
  • Follow clinical policies and procedures in accordance with the National Abortion Federation (NAF) Clinical Policy and Guidelines.
  • Adhere to medical privacy standards (HIPAA).
  • Participate in monthly team wide meetings and clinical team meetings as scheduled.
  • Remain current on best and emerging practices and clinical guidelines.
Care Coordination: 

  • Work with Registered Nurse (RN) on relaying outside test results and coordinating referrals for external services.
  • Work with Medical Director & Clinic support staff to coordinate data for required compliance reports and other patient care needs.
Advocacy & Autonomy: 

  • Collaborate efficiently with interdisciplinary teams (Physicians, Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs), RNs, and Patient Navigators) to best support the patient care experience. 
  • Act as a strong advocate for patients’ reproductive rights and bodily autonomy.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Master of Science in Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice, Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Certified Nurse Midwife, or accredited Physician Assistant.
  • Board Certification in relevant speciality.
  • Licensures:
    • Shield Law Provider (1-2 openings): Active state licensure in New York or California
    • Non Shield Law Provider (1 opening): Active state licensure in Minnesota and/or Colorado
  • Trained in Medication Abortion Provision within a virtual setting.
  • 3-5 years of clinical experience in sexual and reproductive health.
  • Willingness to participate in completion of JTP internal process for medicaid credentialing.
  • Technology Proficiency: Capability to navigate and leverage EHR (Electronic Health Record System) and multiple healthcare information systems.
