Democracy International (DI) has been invited by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Danida) to bid on the next stage of an anticipated program to manage grants for the Youth/Women, Peace and Security (Y/WPS) project under the Peace and Stabilization Programme for West Africa (PSP WA).
About the role
The Team Leader will inspire and lead program staff members and be responsible for managing grants to civil society organizations across the region in line with Danida and Peace and Stabilization Fund guidelines. The Team Leader will facilitate the call-for-proposals process, oversee grant administration, and serve as the team's principal point of contact, ensuring the client receives timely, relevant information to support its own programme management, monitoring, and reporting responsibilities.

Required qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in development cooperation. Full professional proficiency (CEFR level C1) in both English and French, spoken and written.
- Experience in fund/grant management for donor-funded, multi-country programmes, including financial management, controls, due diligence, and compliance support to grantees.
- Demonstrated experience implementing and reporting on monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) for development programmes.
- Experience working with small and medium-sized civil society organizations (CSOs).
- Familiarity with UNSCR 1325 (Women, Peace and Security) and/or UNSCR 2250 (Youth, Peace and Security).
- Strong administrative and coordination skills, including experience facilitating competitive call- for-proposals processes.
- Strong communication and visibility skills for donor-funded programming.
