Description of Women’s Peace Network
Women’s Peace Network (WPN) is a non-governmental and civil society organization that works to protect the rights, enhance the status, and contribute to the inclusion of marginalized women, youth, and communities in Myanmar. WPN is composed of lawyers, academics, community leaders, and peace activists from Myanmar and around the globe who strive to ensure that Myanmar is a place where all people can enjoy peace, justice, and prosperity and live together harmoniously.
Job description
The Development Specialist will support the Executive Director in building the growth and sustainability of WPN by identifying funding opportunities, writing grants, organizing and preparing for opportunities to generate financial support. The volunteer may also be tasked to draft funding proposals; contribute to communications and other materials to donors; and develop a comprehensive donor strategy and reporting system for WPN and its projects, including for the new “Peace Lab” initiative. The Development Specialist is expected to report directly to the Executive Director.
Skills and Requirements
● Minimum five years of experience leading donor relations for an organization;
● Experience drafting funding proposals to a diverse range of donor organizations and governments;
● Fluency in English writing and reporting;
● Deep commitment to promoting the rights and dignity of marginalized communities;
● Demonstrated ability to engage respectfully and effectively with colleagues and communities from diverse, marginalized, and conflict-affected backgrounds;
● Proven ability to work under pressure in fast-paced or high-stress environments, with a flexible schedule to accommodate changing priorities and urgent needs.
