The role of Head of Programmes:
WoMin is looking to employ a highly experienced, passionate woman who explicitly identifies as feminist, has supported and stood with movements of dispossessed people (especially women), and holds a radical vision and practice that goes beyond conventional mainstream liberal and gender mainstream thinking. The successful candidate will give political and strategic leadership to WoMin’s programmes and projects ensuring alignment to the organisation’s political mission and vision, and its long-term strategy. The role is full-time with a reporting line to the Executive Director.
The successful candidate will:
- Give overall direction to WoMin’s programmes and projects, leading and inspiring a distributed programme team, and ensuring that all WoMin’s work is anchored deeply in the mission of women’s organising and movement building, and advances our radical vision of change.
- Lead networking, alliance building and partnerships in the programme area, ensuring politically aligned relationships which span the continent, guiding internal policies and systems to enable these critical organisational relations, and supporting and mentoring programme staff as needed.
- Give leadership to WoMin’s feminist action learning approach to monitoring and evaluation, ensuring that these efforts support our political ambition to strengthen and support women’s movement-building, and advise and accompany programme staff in the building of methods and practices for implementation.
- Works closely with the Director, who holds primary accountability for fundraising, in the development of a fundraising strategy, in conceptualising and guiding the programme team in the development of strategic proposals and ensuring that programme staff adhere to the highest standards of transparency, accountability and integrity.
- Oversees and signs off all research, publications and resource materials that are outward facing, ensuring that these align to and powerfully represent WoMin’s analysis and perspectives to our allies, partners, funders and the general public.
- Serve as a senior leader in the organisation, representing WoMin in fora and spaces on the continent and globally, always advancing the interests of the organisation, and supporting vital organisation planning, budgeting and reporting processes.
