About SEVA:
SEVA uses craftivism, crochet, knitting, and other textile arts as tools for women's empowerment, combining hands-on skill-building with community development and economic opportunity. Through workshops, mentorship, and network-building, SEVA helps women turn craft skills into confidence, income, and leadership. Our capacity-building trainings extend this work further, equipping women and grassroots organizations with the practical skills to advance gender equality in their own communities.
Volunteer Role Description:
SEVA is seeking a dedicated volunteer to support our fundraising and grant-writing efforts. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about women’s empowerment and/or international development. This position is a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of a nonprofit while gaining hands-on experience in development and fundraising.
Responsibilities:
• Research potential funding sources, including foundations, corporate sponsors, government programs and regional institutions
• Draft grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents
• Assist with donor communications and reporting as needed
• Support broader fundraising initiatives, including campaigns and outreach
Qualifications:
• Experience in grant writing or fundraising for nonprofit organizations OR experience in researching & writing
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Passion for women’s empowerment, community development, and creative skill-building
• Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising tools and platforms is a plus
