About the role
The Case Manager, LGBTIQA+ and Family Violence will provide therapeutic case management and other interventions as agreed within supervision and according to Drummond Street’s (DS) Queerspace and family violence practice approaches. The Case Manager will work in the Queerspace Family Violence Response program, With Respect.
About you
- Demonstrated ability to provide case management support with positive outcomes for LGBTIQA+ individuals and families experiencing family violence
- Experience working in family violence is highly desirable
- Highly skilled and experienced case manager with experience preparing written reports, completing assessments and maintaining client records
- Family-aware and inclusive practice whilst holding risk and safety as paramount
- Demonstrated capacity to work creatively, show initiative, contribute ideas and be active in a supportive team environment in an agency working to support individual and family relationships
- Ability to work to a deadline and manage competing priorities
- Cultural and diversity humility
Essential
- This role requires lived experience as a member of the LGBTIQA+ community to provide culturally informed support and advocacy.
- Qualifications in social work or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to provide case management interventions with positive client outcomes
- Knowledge of and/or experience in working with LGBTIQA+ communities
- Demonstrated understanding of the needs, issues and sensitivities of people from diverse backgrounds including Aboriginal, LGBTIQA+ and culturally and linguistically diverse people and communities
- Demonstrated experience of working with families with complex needs such as family violence, drug and alcohol and mental health issue
- Demonstrated capacity to work within integrated, collaborative and systemic approaches
- Demonstrated organisational skills including the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise work tasks
- This role requires the ability to drive a DS fleet vehicle, provide your own transport or have other transportation options to perform the inherent requirements of the position.
