The European Women’s Lobby is an organisation engaged in lobbying and campaigning to shape legislation, policy and actions of European Institutions and member states. Founded in 1990, the EWL has grown into the largest alliance of women’s nongovernmental associations in Europe. The EWL currently consists of member organisations in 26 EU Member States, 4 official candidate countries, Iceland, Norway, United Kingdom, as well as 17 European-wide member organisations working on very diverse areas and activities, with overall membership of over 2000 organisations across Europe.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Policy and Advocacy Support as part of the Policy and Campaigns Team

  • Monitor EU policy developments related to gender equality, in particular focus on feminist economics.
  • Support the preparation of policy briefings, position papers, consultation responses, advocacy materials and support the working group.
  • Contribute to EWL advocacy activities towards EU institutions and international stakeholders.
  • Assist in coordinating policy input and feedback from EWL members and partner organisations.
Project Coordination and Implementation

  • Support the implementation of EU-funded and donor-funded projects
  • Assist with project planning, timelines, reporting, and administrative follow-up relevant to the Policy and Campaigns Team .
  • Coordinate meetings, webinars, consultations, workshops, and advocacy events.
  • Support communication and follow-up with project partners, members, and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to project monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning activities.
  • Support campaigns promoting feminist narratives and inclusive public discourse
Research and Information Gathering

  • Conduct background research to support the work of the feminist economics working group.
  • In this context, collect good practices, case studies, and information from EWL members and partner organisations.
  • Support the drafting of reports, summaries, presentations, and internal documents.
Communication and Member Engagement

  • As part of the Policy and Campaigns Team, support the development of advocacy and campaign materials in collaboration with the communications team.
  • Contribute to newsletters, website content, social media messaging, and awareness campaigns.
  • Maintain regular contact with EWL members, in particular the members of the feminist economics working group, and support information sharing across the network.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of EU institutions and policymaking processes.
  • Interest in women’s rights, feminism, and gender equality issues.
  • Strong research, drafting, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Experience in project coordination or administrative support is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of additional European languages is an asset.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse and multicultural team.
