Purpose
The Regional Director, North America serves as the senior leader responsible for sustaining, growing, and diversifying Women for Women International’s revenue, visibility, and influence across North America. As WfWI’s largest and most mature philanthropic market, North America is a major driver of individual giving, major gifts, family office engagement, corporate partnerships, and broader supporter growth. This role leads WfWI’s North America market strategy and ensures the region contributes strongly to the organization’s overall

revenue diversification and long-term sustainability.
The role represents North America on the Global Revenue Team, Global Leadership Team, and other relevant global forums, and drives a bold North America revenue strategy aligned with the Global Revenue Strategy. This includes strengthening individual giving, including Stand With Her and other mass and mid-level fundraising channels, expanding major donor and family office relationships, growing corporate partnerships, increasing foundation support, and helping mobilize catalytic capital for WfWI’s social investing and related strategic initiatives.

The Regional Director, North America is WfWI’s primary external representative in North America and works closely with the CEO, relevant board or advisory bodies, and senior colleagues to build high-value relationships, strengthen market positioning, and ensure the North America team operates as a strategic driver of global revenue, brand strength, and supporter engagement

Skills and Qualifications
  • University degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of senior leadership experience, including substantial experience in development, partnerships, or revenue leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and integrating an ambitious, forward-looking development and marketing program that advanced an organization’s mission and financial goals.
  • Extensive direct marketing experience, including a strong understanding of how to design and grow a small-donor program that generates revenue and builds a major gifts pipeline.
  • Outstanding major gift fundraising record in a complex nonprofit environment, including the ability to build donor pipelines, secure six- and seven-figure gifts, and increase revenue over time.
  • Strong experience cultivating and managing relationships with high-level donors, family offices, foundations, volunteers, and corporate partners, and engaging them effectively in the fundraising process.
  • Experience working with foundations, including prospecting, cultivation, stewardship, and proposal oversight.
  • Strong networks in North American philanthropy, corporate CSR, family office, or related impact-oriented ecosystems.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and management of large and complex revenue portfolios.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and retain high-performing teams in a matrixed and globally distributed environment.
  • Outstanding relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and representation skills, including the ability to work effectively with senior executives, board or advisory members, donors, partners, staff, and vendors.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to women’s rights, economic empowerment, international development, and/or humanitarian response, with the ability to serve as a compelling ambassador for WfWI.
