Movement building Human rights
Programme Management:  Ensures the high level programme management coordination to effectively plan, implement, monitor and evaluate programme activities according to the programme’s annual work plan and APWLD’s overall strategic plan. 
  • Overall management of the programme workplan and budget, according to APWLD’s strategic plan, financial policies, and guidelines. 
  • Proposes realistic and achievable targets and outputs in the annual work plan as well as in multi-year, five-year strategic plan, and in donor proposals. 

Advocacy:  Plans and implements advocacy plans of the programme as guided by APWLDs overall objectives.  Key tasks and responsibilities include:
  • Facilitates the development of common advocacy positions and collaborative activities on key women’s rights issues with members or network partners. 
  • Support members to make strategic interventions in regional and international advocacy arenas on women’s human rights and Development Justice. 

Network Coordination:  guided by APWLD’ overarching organisational objectives the GG-PO provides leadership or secretariat support to key networks, alliances and coalitions as part of its overall commitment to feminist movement building.
  • Coordinates capacity building activities and networking of members and partners engaging with regional and international mechanisms to advance women’s human rights.
  • Provides coordination support to external networks that APWLD may support and / or lead.
  • Liaises with focal people and organising committees of members engaged with the programme.

Reporting and Accountability: Ensures accountability to APWLD’s members and donors by complying with the quarterly and annual programme reports and respective financial reporting requirements.  Key tasks and responsibilities include:
  • Write and submit annual and programme reports for members and donor agencies.
  • Work closely with the Finance Team and Grants Manager with the preparation of financial reports and Sub Grants matters  related to her programme.

Selection Criteria
  • Demonstrated commitment to the promotion of women’s human rights in Asia and the Pacific. 
  • In depth understanding and knowledge on political, economic, and socio-cultural environments in the region and its impact on women’s human rights.
  • Minimum five (5) years experience in development work, women’s human rights and/or social movements at the national, regional or international levels.
  • Knowledge and experience in engaging with international human rights, women and development issues in Asia and the Pacific. Experience in policy analysis is an asset.x
