About the SVRI Forum

The SVRI Forum is the leading global convening focused on research on violence against women, violence against children, and other forms of violence driven by gender inequality. Held biennially, it brings together researchers, practitioners, activists, policymakers, and donors to share evidence, strengthen connections, and shape the evolving priorities of the field.

SVRI Forum 2026 takes place at the Centara Grand Hotel and Bangkok Convention Centre in Bangkok, Thailand, from 5 to 9 October 2026. It is cohosted by the Sexual Violence Research Initiative, the Southeast Asia Gender-Based Violence Prevention Platform, and the UN Joint Programme on GBV Prevention in Southeast Asia (led by UN Women and UNFPA). The Forum is committed to centering voices and leadership from low- and middle-income countries and fostering an inclusive, globally representative space.

Alongside a strong scientific and practice-based programme, the Forum prioritises conditions that enable meaningful participation. The subject matter is complex and often emotionally demanding, and many participants engage both professionally and through lived experience. A thoughtful and well-coordinated approach to wellness and care is essential.
The opportunity

SVRI is seeking a Wellness Coordinator to design and lead the delivery of wellness and care support for SVRI Forum 2026.

Given the location of the Forum, preference will be given to applicants based in Thailand or those with strong, established networks of qualified wellness providers in the country.

This is a practical, hands-on role. The Coordinator will work closely with SVRI and me too. International to design the wellness approach, coordinate a small team of providers, and ensure that all support is accessible, ethically grounded, and appropriate to the Forum context.
What wellness support entails

Wellness support is designed to provide short-term, in-the-moment emotional support, alongside opportunities for grounding, rest, and connection. It is not a substitute for ongoing therapeutic care.

This includes:

  • Providing a safe, trauma-informed, confidential space.
  • Supporting emotional regulation and stabilisation.
  • Enabling participants to continue engagement or take appropriate pause.
  • Facilitating optional activities that support rest and reconnection.
  • Ensuring cultural responsiveness and accessibility.
  • Maintaining clear referral pathways for participants requiring additional support.
Scope of work

The Coordinator's work spans four areas: a phased wellness plan, coordination of wellness providers, on-site coordination during Forum week, and integration with the broader Forum team.

Key outputs

  • Wellness coordination and implementation plan.
  • Recruitment and management of provider team.
  • Delivery of on-site wellness support.
  • Post-Forum report and recommendations.
  • Development of feedback and evaluation.

Requirements
  • Professional background in mental health, psychosocial support, or trauma-informed care.
  • Established networks with qualified providers in Thailand, or demonstrated ability to engage local providers.
  • Experience coordinating wellness or support services in conference, humanitarian, or similar settings.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills.
  • Ability to design and deliver within a fixed budget.
  • Experience working in diverse, international environments.
