- Leads a small technical and implementation team responsible for the design and implementation of SRGBV prevention activities across targeted counties.
- Provides technical direction across the programme on SRGBV, safeguarding, social inclusion and climate related protection aspects.
- Lead gender analyses, assessments, baseline studies, and social inclusion diagnostics.
- Contribute to learning documents, case studies, success stories, and knowledge products.
- Promote adaptive learning using evidence from monitoring and research to refine gender strategies.
- Responsible for ensuring that GBV prevention, response and SRGBV reporting mechanisms align with Ministry of Education, and other related ministries e.g. gender, policies and international standards.
- Oversees capacity building of partners and staff on SRGBV related matters
- Design and implementation of community engagement activities including initial sensitisation.
- Monitoring and data quality for GBV interventions, capturing and sharing learning and adaptations based on continuous learning.
- Acts as the focal point for safeguarding risk management and compliance for the project.
- Manages relationships with Ministry departments, schools, guidance counsellors, community structures, and youth clubs, and related health, and protection services, ensuring their continued support for and active participation in the programme.
- Supports coordination with environmental and social standards staff, M&E teams, and external consultants.
- Ensures mainstreaming of Plan’s Gender Transformative Approach across all activities within the programme, including ensuring understanding of staff and partners,
- Ensure alignment with global best practices, national gender frameworks, and donor gender policies.
- Provide gender expertise during annual work planning, budgeting, and reporting cycles.
- Guide gender transformative approaches that challenge harmful gender norms and promote equitable power dynamics.
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in gender studies, social sciences, sociology, social work or a related field.
- At least five years of experience in GBV or SRGBV prevention programmes and response in development or humanitarian settings within Liberia or West Africa region.
- Proven experience managing a small team delivering community or school-based interventions.
- Familiarity with the education sector in Liberia and current MoE initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of GBV standards, reporting mechanisms, and referral systems including survivor centred approaches.
- Experience designing and delivering training and capacity building for diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with safeguarding, child protection and safe programming.
- Demonstrated ability to lead GBV risk assessments and apply findings to programme design.
- Strong skills in analytical writing, reporting, and data interpretation.
- Experience working with youth groups and school-based structures.
- Experience collaborating with government stakeholders.
