Project Description:
The project supports Ukraine’s security and stabilisation efforts. It focusses on working with civilian and military actors, which are most exposed to the adverse effects of war. The project incorporates several distinct workstreams that contribute to the SSSP strategic objectives of building resilience of Ukrainian security actors and civilians in the face of the Russian aggression. Topics include procurement, mental health and psychosocial support, and security planning and delivery.

About the Work:
The GEDSI Adviser will ensure mainstreaming of gender equality, disability, and social inclusion across project activities. They will be responsible for working with the Team Lead, Deputy Team Lead, and Intervention Leads to ensure GEDSI sensitive design and implementation of activities.

Key Responsibilities:
The GEDSI Adviser’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
– Review existing project level GEDSI mainstreaming, do-no harm, policies, and tools and provide recommendations for revisions and updates.
– Undertake brief GEDSI analysis of each SSSP intervention area, drawing upon both international and domestic best practices and lessons learned from SSSP and other projects working in similar fields.
– Work with Intervention Leads to integrate GEDSI in project’s interventions’ design and delivery
– Work with SSSP RMEL team to support the assessment of the project’s progress towards GEDSI indicators as well as development of ISF GESI Marker Self-Assessment Tool.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Educational background:
– Master’s degree in Women, Peace and Security, Gender Studies, International Relations, Human Rights, Political Science, or Conflict Studies, or a related field.
Professional experience:
– A minimum of 6 years of experience working on Gender and Conflict. Preferably in Ukraine, Eastern Europe, or similar post-conflict settings.
Skills:
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– Ability to work effectively across diverse programming areas
– A strategic thinker with the ability to navigate complex security and political environments.
– Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Language Requirements:
– Ukrainian: Fluent (native or near-native proficiency) — mandatory.
– English: Fluent (C1 level or equivalent) — mandatory. The candidate must be able to draft, review, and negotiate project documents in English.
