Background
Centre for Rights Education and Awareness (CREAW) is a feminist women’s rights organization based in Kenya whose vision a just society where women and girls are valued, respected and enjoy full rights and live-in dignity. CREAW’s mission is to transform the lives of all women and girls through championing gender equality, rights and social justice.
The organization has developed a 5-year Strategic Plan to guide its priorities and programming.
CREAW’s Strategic focus areas as follows;
- Ending all forms of violence against women and girls.
- Advancing comprehensive Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR).
- Investing Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE).
- Strengthening women’s rights organizations, movements, and collectives.
- Women and girls’ participation of women and girls in leadership and decision making.
As part of its growth and impact journey, the organization will launch its 2026–2030 Strategic Plan, which outlines its vision, priority areas, and expected impact over the next five years. The launch event will convene key stakeholders including development partners, government representatives, civil society actors, private sector partners, and the media. To support this launch and broader dissemination, CREAW seeks the graphic design services to design the strategic plan in both full and abridged formats, aligned with its brand identity and accessible to diverse audiences
Purpose of the Assignment
Purpose of the Assignment
The consultant will transform the final Strategic Plan content into visually compelling, reader-friendly, and accessible publications.
This includes:
- A full Strategic Plan document (approximately 40 pages)
- An abridged version (8–12 pages) optimized for quick consumption and digital access (including QR code distribution)
Scope of Work
The consultant will:
- Design and layout the Strategic Plan 2026–2030 (full version) for both print and digital use
- Design and layout the abridged version for both print and digital use
- Ensure alignment with CREAW’s brand identity, feminist values, and safeguarding principles
- Develop a clean, engaging visual hierarchy to enhance readability and storytelling
- Prepare print-ready full and abridged versions files to ensure quality production
- Produce web-optimized and mobile-friendly versions for digital dissemination (including QR code access)
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with CREAW’s Communications Team lead to refine design concepts
- Apply consistent branding (typography, color palette, imagery, iconography)
- Integrate data visualization elements where necessary (charts, infographics, highlights)
- Ensure accessibility through:
- Clear, legible typography
- Inclusive and representative imagery
- Logical structure and navigation
- Deliver all outputs within agreed timelines and budgeT
Deliverables
- Designed Full Strategic Plan 2026–2030 (print-ready and digital formats)
- Designed Abridged Strategic Plan (8–12 pages) (print-ready and digital formats)
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in graphic design and publication layout
- Proven portfolio of NGO/advocacy publications, preferably strategic plans or reports
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, or equivalent tools
- Strong understanding of branding, accessibility, and print production processes
- Demonstrated ability to work under tight timelines and with multi-stakeholder teams
