About Intersex Canada
Intersex Canada is a national non-profit organization focused on creating supportive spaces and resources for healing and strengthening our community. We aim to empower intersex individuals and families of intersex children to make informed decisions with confidence. Intersex Canada is an inclusive platform to connect, educate, and facilitate communication for intersex people, families, the public, medical professionals, educators and policy makers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead implementation of IC’s strategic plan
  • Serve as a spokesperson and advocate for IC and our community
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, funders, and stakeholders
  • Oversee staff, programs, operations, financial and volunteer management
  • Support, coach and develop staff to ensure success and well-being
  • Strengthen financial sustainability through funding partnerships, grants, and revenue development
  • Support governance processes, and maintain a strong relationship with the Board
  • Provide strategic advice and regular reporting to the Board
  • Lead IC’s commitment to decolonisation through intentional relationship-building with Indigenous communities and Host Nations
  • Identify opportunities to grow IC’s impact, partnerships, and value to members
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven culture that encourages members and volunteers to generate new ideas and contribute creatively
  • Represent the organization at events and meetings across the country

Qualifications 
- Minimum 5 years senior leadership experience
- Previous Executive Director or equivalent senior leadership role strongly preferred
- Experience working with or reporting to a Board of Directors 
- Strong financial and operational management experience, CFRE designation an asset
- Experience building partnerships with funders, policy makers and sector stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to lead organizations through growth and change 
- Experience developing or implementing organizational or strategic plans 
- Strong trauma informed communication, facilitation, and advocacy skills
- Knowledge of current Intersex community challenges and opportunities in Canada
- Comfort with digital tools for collaboration, and project management
- Ability to thrive in a small, nonprofit team environment 
- Post-secondary education in nonprofit management, public policy, community or social development, a related field or equivalent experience
- Experience in the nonprofit, health, social service, education sector an asset
- English, French bilingualism an asset
