Key Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of IC’s strategic plan
- Serve as a spokesperson and advocate for IC and our community
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, funders, and stakeholders
- Oversee staff, programs, operations, financial and volunteer management
- Support, coach and develop staff to ensure success and well-being
- Strengthen financial sustainability through funding partnerships, grants, and revenue development
- Support governance processes, and maintain a strong relationship with the Board
- Provide strategic advice and regular reporting to the Board
- Lead IC’s commitment to decolonisation through intentional relationship-building with Indigenous communities and Host Nations
- Identify opportunities to grow IC’s impact, partnerships, and value to members
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven culture that encourages members and volunteers to generate new ideas and contribute creatively
- Represent the organization at events and meetings across the country
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years senior leadership experience
- Previous Executive Director or equivalent senior leadership role strongly preferred
- Experience working with or reporting to a Board of Directors
- Strong financial and operational management experience, CFRE designation an asset
- Experience building partnerships with funders, policy makers and sector stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to lead organizations through growth and change
- Experience developing or implementing organizational or strategic plans
- Strong trauma informed communication, facilitation, and advocacy skills
- Knowledge of current Intersex community challenges and opportunities in Canada
- Comfort with digital tools for collaboration, and project management
- Ability to thrive in a small, nonprofit team environment
- Post-secondary education in nonprofit management, public policy, community or social development, a related field or equivalent experience
- Experience in the nonprofit, health, social service, education sector an asset
- English, French bilingualism an asset
