RFSU is looking for a consultant to investigate how young people who participate in sexual education from  the organization's information workers experience the teaching and who the activities reach.

About RFSU

The Swedish Association for Sexual Education, RFSU, is a non-profit organization for sexual education and sexual policy, which has existed since 1933. Through knowledge, commitment and influence, RFSU wants to contribute to a world where all people are free to decide over, and enjoy, their bodies and their sexuality. We work in a feminist, anti-racist and norm-critical manner to make this a reality for everyone, regardless of power and resources. Read more at www.rfsu.se.

Purpose

The purpose of the assignment is to produce a report on how young people experience sexual education from RFSU in school, so-called school information sessions. The report will be based on experiences collected from young people and their teachers after they have been visited by RFSU's school information workers.

Scope, schedule and budget

The project must be completed before the end of February 2027 and a draft report must be presented no later than December 10, 2026.
The project has a total budget of SEK 450,000 including VAT and all project costs must be included within this, such as travel. It is desirable that the project includes a selection of the locations where RFSU has information activities: Umeå, Uppsala, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Örebro, Östergötland and Malmö. The exact scope of the knowledge acquisition will be designed in a project plan in consultation with RFSU. The program manager at RFSU's federal office and local project manager will support the implementation and put the consultant in contact with schools where the knowledge acquisition can be carried out. Statistics for all information sessions carried out during the year are also provided and can be included in the analysis of the activities.

Skills and experience

The consultant should have:

1. Experience with similar surveys and/or research
2. Experience with working with focus groups and interviews
3. Experience with pedagogy and non-profit activities aimed at children and young people
4. Experience with working from intersectional feminist and anti-racist perspectives

Background

The report is funded by the Swedish Public Health Agency. A similar report was carried out by Splitvision Research and published in 2019 , the approach in this report should form the basis for the new work. Here you can read more about information activities from RFSU and its different focuses.
