WEL is implementing a five (5) years program called Financial Inclusion for Youth and MSMEs in Agriculture (FIYMA) in 28 Counties. This program aims to remove systemic barriers to financial inclusion and creating sustainable economic opportunities for financially disadvantaged young people in Kenya targeting young women, men, PWDs and refugees. The program will target financially disadvantaged young people and youth-owned or youth-controlled MSMEs within six priority agricultural value chains which include Dairy, Livestock and poultry, Fisheries and aquaculture, Irish potatoes, Pulses, Fruits and vegetables.

To support implementation of this project, WEL seeks to recruit a dynamic, result-oriented individuals to serve as Community Gender Champions (CGCs) and Trainers of Trainers (ToTs).

Target Counties:
Baringo, Bungoma, Busia, Embu,  Homa Bay, Kakamega, Kilifi , Kisumu, Laikipia, Meru, Migori, Murang’a, Nakuru, Nandi,  Nyamira, Nyandarua, Siaya, Trans Nzoia,  Uasin Gishu, Vihiga.

Key Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include:

  • Support FIYMA programme assessments to identify gaps in financial inclusion of young women and men. PWDs and refugees in agricultural value chains in the targeted counties.
  • Drive engagement between youth, persons with disabilities, and refugees with Cooperatives and Enterprises within agricultural value chains groups
  • Support the Delivery of trainings and capacity building on safeguarding, Gender considerations and inclusive governance targeting young women and men, PWDs, Refugees, Cooperatives and Enterprises
  • Promote safeguarding, and inclusive practices throughout the implementation of the FIYMA Programme.
  • Link young women and men, PWDs and Refugees to capacity building and financial inclusion opportunities within the FIYMA Programme
  • Monitor progress, collect data, and support learning and reporting
Who can apply?

  • Young people (18–35) from the community with at least Form 4 education or relevant experience
  • Experience in training, mentoring, or working with community groups
  • Experience working with agricultural value chains, cooperatives, or small enterprises
  • Interest in gender equality, youth empowerment, and helping the community
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Honest, respectful, and able to adapt to different situations
  • Deep understanding of local language and socio cultural life of the rural communities.
