The global project "Feminism in Action for Structural Transformation (GP FAST)", works with state and civil society actors in four partner countries (Armenia, Colombia, Tunisia and Rwanda) to overcome structural causes of gender inequality and discrimination. Starting points include changing discriminatory social norms and gender roles through gender-transformative approaches and breaking down structural barriers for marginalized population groups.
In particular, the role will be working closely with the thematic areas of gender communication in times of anti-gender movements and gender pushback, as well as feminist approaches to data, and digital strategies leading towards gender transformative change.
During the internship, you will support the team in the following content-related and organizational work processes, among others:

  • Support of innovative feminist communication measures
  • Support in the planning, implementation and translation of communication and knowledge products and drafting of text contributions of various kinds (e.g. information sheets, presentations, reports, publications, website articles)
  • Research, qualitative data analysis and communicative reappraisal of gender-transformative approaches
  • Support in the area of knowledge management (e.g. creation of knowledge maps, collection of internal knowledge on good practices, support in the organization and preparation of exchange formats)
  • Supporting tasks (e.g. taking minutes of meetings)
  • You have already completed your bachelor's degree, e.g. in International Relations/ Gender Studies or other relevant courses of study
  • You were able to gain initial experience in writing texts or in press and public relations
  • You were able to gain initial experience in analysing qualitative data and feminist methods of knowledge production
  • Clear, structured and understandable verbal and written communication is easy for you, plus you have an eye for detail
  • You are enthusiastic about digital trends and tools as well as digital forms of work
  • You have already dealt with gender equality in theory (and practice), and you are familiar with feminist approaches in interaction with the feminist core principles which underpin the project: including post-colonialism, intersectionality, power-criticality, gender-transformative approaches
  • Content matter experience in anti-gender movements, democratisation, digitalisation as it pertains to gender an asset
  • You like to look for creative and out of the box solutions to various challenges
  • If you have already gained some experience in graphic design and image editing, we look forward to your support here as well
  • You are fluent in English (oral and written) and German; Knowledge of another language is an advantage
