Gender equality and Social inclusion (GESI)
Generic (e.g. 'gender focal point' role
The Organisation
We employ approximately 25,000 people across the globe and work on the ground in over 100 countries to help children affected by crises, or those that need better healthcare, education and child protection. We also campaign and advocate at the highest levels to realise the right of children and to ensure their voices are heard.
We are working towards three breakthroughs in how the world treats children by 2030:
- No child dies from preventable causes before their 5th birthday
- All children learn from a quality basic education and that,
- Violence against children is no longer tolerated
Role Purpose
The Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Technical Advisor provides technical leadership and expertise to advance gender equality, disability inclusion and broader social inclusion across Save the Children Cambodia’s programming, advocacy, partnerships and internal practices.
The role supports the Country Office to deliver high-quality, inclusive and equitable programmes that ensure girls, boys and children with disabilities are able to survive, learn and be protected, and can meaningfully participate in decisions affecting their lives.
The GEDSI Advisor ensures that programmes are grounded in intersectional gender and power analysis and that Save the Children’s Gender Equality Policy, Disability Inclusion Policy and Programme Quality Framework are systematically applied across the programme cycle—from design to implementation, monitoring, evaluation and learning.
Working within the PDQI team, the role collaborates with programme sectors (education, child protection, health, nutrition, climate and child rights governance), MEAL, advocacy and operations colleagues to strengthen programme quality, evidence generation and influencing efforts.
The role contributes to Save the Children’s ambition to address inequality and discrimination affecting children, particularly those most marginalised, including girls, children with disabilities and other socially excluded groups.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
