Gender equality and Social inclusion (GESI)
The BIFAD Support Contract, implemented by Tetra Tech International Development Services, is accepting expressions of interest for a Gender and Social Inclusion Consultant to finalize and test an assessment tool that measures the integration of gender and social inclusion in agriculture, food systems, and nutrition research. This is a short-term, remote consultant position to begin in early September 2023. The Board for International Food and Agricultural Development (BIFAD) is a seven-member, presidentially appointed advisory board to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and works to ensure that USAID brings the assets of U.S. universities to bear on development challenges in agriculture, nutrition, and food security. BIFAD-supported products and presentations aim to consider and promote gender equality and social inclusion (GESI), exploring development issues and policies with a lens that reflects the experiences and perspectives of underrepresented groups. The purpose of this assignment is to engage GESI expertise to finalize a GESI assessment tool for BIFAD-commissioned evidence-based advisory studies and reports. The tool is designed as both a guide to inform work in the conceptualization stage and an assessment to measure the extent to which GESI research best practices are evident in BIFAD technical publications.
