Objective and Purpose of the Assignment
Technical Assistance (TA) Subproject 4: Fostering Women’s Entrepreneurship in the Syunik Region of Armenia and Supporting Gender Mainstreaming in Transport aims to strengthen the implementation of
gender-related components under Loan 56317-001 ARM: Resilient and Inclusive Economic Corridor Improvement Project. Under Output 3 of the loan project (increased entrepreneurial capacity of women and access to financial services in the Syunik region) the TA subproject will promote women’s economic empowerment by enhancing entrepreneurship skills and improving access to financial services. The TA will primarily target women from communities located along the project road corridor, including those working in the informal sector and women from project-affected households. By equipping these women with the necessary skills and tools to start and grow their businesses, the TA will help unlock their entrepreneurial potential, create new livelihood opportunities, and contribute to inclusive local economic development. The subproject will also address the capacity needs of existing women entrepreneurs by providing professional and high-quality business development services that foster women-led micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and strengthen their competitiveness and sustainability.
2. The subproject’s activities will cover a wide range of business skills tailored to women at various experience levels, ranging from those with a business idea but no prior experience to those who are already running MSMEs and want to grow. The capacity-building will cover business and market expansion, enterprise establishment and management, business plan development, basic digital literacy for business management and marketing, financial literacy, access to financial services, and an accelerated business incubator. This incubator will provide new and existing women-run businesses with a supportive environment through continuous mentoring, business advice, training, and networking.
