Job summary

The Centre for Reproductive Research & Communication (CRRC) at BPAS is seeking a Research and Evaluation Assistant to support the delivery of mixed-methods research and evaluation projects focused on sexual and reproductive health with a core focus on abortion care.

Working closely with the Research and Engagement Lead and Evaluation Researcher, you will contribute to data collection, data management, and analysis; support the production of high-quality research outputs; and help ensure projects are delivered ethically and effectively.

You will bring strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience working with both qualitative and quantitative data. A bachelors degree in a relevant field is essential, and a masters degree or equivalent research training is desirable.

This is an excellent development opportunity for someone committed to reproductive autonomy and advancing evidence-based practice. Applicants must be fully pro-choice and confident working in an SRH/abortion-care environment.

This role is working 36 hours per week on a hybrid contract with one day per week in our London office. It is a 12 month fixed term contract.

Main duties of the job

Support the delivery of qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation projects under supervision, including literature reviews, evidence summaries, and desk research.

Assist with data collection activities such as interviews, focus groups, surveys, and use of administrative or service data.

Liaise with patients, clinicians, colleagues, and external partners to support participant recruitment and project delivery.

Undertake accurate data entry, cleaning, management, and maintain secure research documentation in line with data governance standards.

Support basic qualitative and quantitative analysis, including thematic coding and descriptive statistics.

Contribute to written and visual outputs such as reports, lay summaries, presentations, posters, infographics, manuscripts, and conference abstracts where appropriate.

Provide project support by coordinating research activities, maintaining documentation, monitoring progress, preparing internal updates, and assisting with ethics and governance processes.
